Excellent

I bought this to replace one like it that I had used continuously for 14 years. It was easy to disconnect the old one and put the new in its place. This is the best pressure system for household water that I have ever had. The stainless pump does not make my water rusty as so many others do. It is quiet, dependable, effecient, trouble-free, and gives m ethe pressure I want.

Worked well... for a few weeks.

Bought pump as a direct replacement for the very old unit. New pump and pressure was Great! I definitely need the pressure reducer inbetween the pump and the house. After a few weeks the pump was dead. The motor cycles when turned on, but the pump never activates. Even when the supply pressure is nil (or negative, as in, it's a good thing there's a backflow device on the pool's water supply). I thought I could swap in the pressure sensor from the old pump to fix the problem but that piece is epoxied in place. Now I'm in return/warranty limbo and looking at eating the cost of the pump. Not cool.

Great Product

This pump boosted my water pressure. I also added a pressure regulator to make sure the pressure did not get to high. Works great.

I would buy this product from supplyhouse again

The Grundfos water pressure pump I ordered is working very good, working smoothly with low noise level. I've always used this type of pump and wasn't able to find it locally when my last pump went out but very happy I found it through Supply house, ordered it and received it on the day it was specified to arrive. Good product :)

Solid pump

WE have a lot of elevation change on the farm, with the house roughly 100' above the shop. So the well pressure is set to that desired at the shop, and this boost pump is in the house to bring that pressure up without over pressurizing the pipes in the shop. But just as important as the pump itself is the service provided by SupplyHouse. One pump seal failed after a few months of service - stuff happens. SupplyHouse shipped a new one the same day I called, I kept the leaky one in service until the new one arrived, and then shipped that back to them. All with one easy phone call and no charge for anything. I WILL use SupplyHouse again.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: Will this pump work for domestic use on a spring-fed, 2.5 bath, 3-story home(including the basement)? Spring is roughly the same elevation as the main floor, and about 60' from the house. Pump will be located in the basement.

The MQ3-35 will provide a boost of approximately 48 psi of water pressure at the discharge of the pump. This may not be enough pressure for the home.

A standard residential system will have a system pressure of about 60psi. Every system is different. The Max pressure for this unit is 109 psi.

These pumps have fixed uplift of approx. 45lbs. You can put a pressure reduction valve on the input side to control input pressure. You can also put one on the output side but back pressure may be an issue. In put side is easy and put a pressure gauge on out put side. Pressure gauge 10.00 and reduction valve will run from 70.00 to 110.00 at Home Depot depending on 3/4 or 1" size.

Q: I’m on town water supply but at the very end of the line with very low water pressure and the supply volume is 45 gal/hr. Would the supply volume be enough for the Grundfos MQ3-35/115v pump to work or would I need a reservoir tank for the pump to draw from?

The MQ has a Maximum inlet pressure of about 40psi. It is recommended to put a pressure reducing valve before the pump so that the pump is always working off of the same incoming pressure. It is also recommended to set the Pressure Reducing Valve at about 25psi - 30psi. As for the flow rate, it sounds like you may want to put a tank in. That pump will move close to 11gpm - 16gpm. That supply would not keep up with the MQ.

Q: What is the minimum water supply required to the intake of the MQ3-35/110 volt so it can work without cavitations

Provided that you are not at high altitude, the MQ3-45 is capable of pulling water from the MAXIMUM vertical lift of 26 feet. Obviously, you would want to be less than that for normal operation. This is assuming that the pump is primed, i.e., filled with water as described in the manual. Cavitation is not related to this. If the inlet pipe is the same diameter as the inlet to the pump, cavitation should not be a problem.
