I aged a year between order and arrival
I don't know, I guess finding one of these in 4 feet is like finding a unicorn with a nougat center playing under a rainbow of wishes. I really didn't think it would be that difficult. I'm pretty sure Hart & Cooley is the only company in the Milky Way Galaxy that makes a baseboard air diffuser in 4 feet. I am actually replacing an 8 footer with 2 4 footers. Which is weird because I was told 8 footers never existed. I know, freaky, right? I remember years ago there was an episode of The X Files about an 8 foot air diffuser.
None the less, it is good quality and PexSupply was significantly cheaper than any other online retailer. And the customer service was actually very good. I will definitely order from PexSupply again, I will just order whatever I need 6 months before I need it.

Poor quality - good price
After doing on-line search for needed 48" Baseboard Diffusers. I found this product to offer the best pricing. However, aside from a small dented end, not worth returning over, I needed to shim the vent handle inside with thin cardboard for the vent to work properly.
Also, when closed completely, neither of the 48" units fully block the air flow from end to end. The thin metal used leaves gaps for air not creating a good sealing as did the old one's that were replaced.
I would have spent more money for a higher end unit with better quality had I known these issues.

Matches Existing Diffusers, But Smaller Opening on Bottom
This matches the existing 48" diffusers, but the opening for the vent is only a small section of the center. My existing vents are much larger, so I had to cut the bottom to match to avoid restricting the flow. If the opening went across most of the bottom, then I would have rated 5 stars.

Perfect replacement for my 1965 house
So nice to start over with new! The big box stores don't carry items like this for Mid Century homes. Didn't think I'd ever be able to find. Amazingly fast shipping too!

I don't think that is a good idea. The returns I have seen have large openings, whereas these are narrow. Consult a heating and air conditioning specialist to know for sure.

depth is 2.75 inches at its deepest at the bottom of the difuser. It is 1.0 inch deep at the top of the difuser.

The depth is 1 inch at the top and 2 and a half inches at the bottom. In other words it sticks out 2 1/2 inches from the wall at the base.
