Q: What are the OUTER DIMENSIONS of this register? I have been painting the house and I'm trying to find new ceiling registers to replace old rusted ones. 12" x 6" fits most of the vent openings, but the new ceiling registers that were available in the local Lowes and Home Depot stores have outer dimensions of 7.5-7.75" by 13.5-13.75". My old registers have outer dimensions of 8.25" x 14.0", so the new ones found so far leave an ugly gap on the ceiling.
