- Sludgehammer System Restorer and Noise Reducer is a combination product for system cleaning and reducing kettling.
- Helps restore heating system efficiency.
- Suitable for all metals including aluminum, cast iron and stainless steel.
- For typical 25 gallon system use 1 quart. For larger systems, dose at a rate of 1% of the system volume.
- For noise reduction or annual maintenance, recirculate product for 4 hours. For heavily fouled systems, recirculate for up to 24 hours.
- Use with Sludgehammer Universal Corrosion Inhibitor as part of an annual heating system maintenance program.

I would absolutely purchase this cleaner again
We bought our house in 2023, the 1st winter the boiler system was obnoxiously loud, i replaced the bladder tank which took care of some of the knocking, banging clanking. After some research i came across this product-knowing the boiler system hasnt been cleaned since new (1985). Ran this cleaner through and let it run through for 24hrs. When i drained the system-the water was brown for awhile. Refilled and put the inhibitor in also. Now the boiler is quiet. Still can hear a very faint (kettling) but nothing like it was. I would recommend this product.

Really works! I would buy this product again.
What it is supposed to do. Boiler furnace is now clean, and no more kettling noise!
Previous to using this, boiler sounded like gun shots. Yes, that loud. Circulated this in the system for 12 hours, then flushed it. Came out very dark and full of debris. Now... the system is quiet again!

Did not do the job!
The product was used in a boiler and eight fan/coils. In view of previous reviews, the product was used for about 48 hours instead of the recommended four hours with the heat and pump on. Impact was marginal such as slightly murky water when the system was purged but, also and as expected, a slightly adverse impact on the shut-off valves due to the acidic nature of the product. However, the boiler is still kettling and thus building pressure.

Does exactly what it's designed to do
Had a lot of kettling noise in my 20yr old Lennox boiler. I'm on city water, and I realized the internal buildup from hard water was causing this annoyance. This product was highly rated, and I followed the proceedure prcisely. I followed this cleaner with the inhibitor, and the problem has been resolved. I suspect it will stay that way for quite some time. Quality products, from a reputable supplier, is a win.
