Description

Honeywell Home F300E1001 Electronic Air Cleaner, 16x20

The Honeywell Home F300E1001 Electronic Air Cleaner is a duct-mounted whole-home filtration system that captures up to 98% of airborne particles between 3.0 and 10.0 microns, including dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. Designed for forced air heating, cooling, or ventilating systems with a 16-inch by 20-inch return duct opening, this electronic air cleaner uses an electrostatic charging process to trap particles that standard filters miss. It handles air flow up to 1200 CFM and operates on standard 120-volt household power. The F300E1001 replaces older models F300A1620 and FH8000A1620, delivering cleaner air throughout your home without the recurring cost of disposable high-efficiency filters.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Electrostatic Filtration Technology: Uses ionizing wires and charged collector cells to attract and trap particles as small as 3.0 microns. This captures fine dust, allergens, and smoke that pass through standard furnace filters, reducing household dust and improving indoor air quality.
  • 98% Particle Capture Efficiency: Removes 95% of large particles (3.0 to 10.0 microns), 88% of medium particles (1.0 to 3.0 microns), and 73% of small particles (0.3 to 1.0 microns) according to ASHRAE Standard 52.2-1999. This level of filtration helps relieve allergy symptoms and protects HVAC components from dust buildup.
  • 1200 CFM Maximum Airflow Capacity: Handles homes with air handlers moving up to 1200 cubic feet per minute without restricting airflow. The unit maintains only 0.26 inches of water column static pressure drop at maximum flow, so your furnace or air conditioner runs efficiently.
  • Self-Regulating Solid State Power Supply: Automatically adjusts voltage to maintain peak filtration efficiency even as the collector cells load with dirt. This means consistent performance between cleanings without manual adjustments.
  • Washable Collector Cells: The electrostatic cells clean easily in a dishwasher or tub of soapy water and reinstall for years of reuse. You avoid the ongoing expense of buying replacement cartridge filters every few months.
  • Included Media Post-Filters: Two disposable post-filters (part number 50000293-001) enhance filtration by catching larger particles before air reenters your living space. These inexpensive filters extend the time between cleanings of the main electrostatic cells.
  • 10-Year Clean Coil Guarantee: Honeywell guarantees the evaporator coil downstream of the F300E1001 will stay clean for 10 years when the air cleaner is properly maintained. This protects your HVAC investment and ensures efficient system operation.
  • Low-Profile Access Door with Test Button: The front door includes a built-in test button to verify system operation at a glance. A compact door design with stamped metal construction provides strength and corrosion protection in a package that fits standard duct spaces.

Compatibility & Requirements

The F300E1001 mounts in the return air duct of forced air HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems. It requires a 16-inch by 20-inch duct opening and approximately 6.75 inches of depth for installation. The unit operates on 120 volts AC at 0.4 amps maximum (60 Hz) and must be wired to a power source that activates when the HVAC blower runs. Replacement media post-filters use part number 50000293-001, and replacement prefilters use part number 209989 (sold separately in packs of two).

Installation & Care

Install the F300E1001 in the return air duct between the air intake and the furnace or air handler, following the directional airflow arrows stamped on the unit cabinet. The cabinet includes stamped mounting tabs with accessible screw holes on both flanges for secure duct attachment. For maintenance, wipe the ionizing wires with a damp cloth monthly for a quick efficiency boost. Full cleaning of the electrostatic cells in hot soapy water or a dishwasher restores peak performance and is recommended annually or more frequently in high-dust environments. Replace the media post-filters as they become visibly loaded with debris, typically once per year.

What's Included
  • F300E1001 electronic air cleaner cabinet with power supply
  • Two washable aluminum mesh prefilters
  • Two electrostatic collector cells with ionizing wires
  • Two disposable media post-filters (16x10 inches)
  • Installation hardware and mounting tabs

Warranty & Support

The Honeywell Home F300E1001 is backed by a 10-year Clean Coil Guarantee that protects the downstream evaporator coil when the air cleaner is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines. The unit is UL Listed under report E30954 for safety and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does a Honeywell electronic air filter last?

A: The electrostatic collector cells in the F300E1001 are designed to last for many years with proper cleaning. Honeywell recommends washing the cells annually to restore peak efficiency, though units in dustier environments may benefit from more frequent cleaning every six months. The disposable media post-filters (part number 50000293-001) should be replaced as they become visibly loaded, typically once per year depending on usage.

Q: Does this unit run all the time or only when the HVAC system is running?

A: The F300E1001 operates only when the HVAC blower is running. When the blower in your furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump turns off, the electronic air cleaner also turns off automatically. This ensures filtration occurs whenever air circulates through your duct system without wasting electricity when the system is idle.

Purchased 16" x 25" F-300 Filter

I did a lot of research online before I purchased, and this one came up with the highest reviews. March 2018 I installed a completely new heating and cooling system myself. This filter has stamped tabs located on inside flange on both sides of unit. These tabs are used for fastening unit to cold air return duct and the other side is used for fastening to air intake on furnace. To ease the assembly I bent these tabs so the holes where accessible from the outside making connection much easier. Once fastened with screws I applied a nice clean bead of Red Devil duct sealer with my caulking gun for a neat clean looking seal! This unit has been in service for 6 months now, we finally are noticing moderate dust so I am going to clean filter in dishwasher as per documentation. I might add we have 3 cats that shed and our house has been virtually dust free up until now. I ordered post filters last night and they are being delivered today! Great service and product!

disappointed about air gaps

i was disappointed in the construction which had obvious air gaps at the formed corners for the pre and post filters. also gaps at the black cover where the front covers the corner. my old replaced unit had a well sealed construction. be ready to duct tape these areas.

Great Price, timely delivery, Honeywell Best eFilter

Supply House was a great choice for our new Honeywell electronic furnace filter. We previously had an older version of the Honeywell that worked for 24 years. It's extremely easy to clean and maintain, while filtering the tiniest particles helping with our allergies.

Exactly what I needed

Looking for a replacement for an Old Honeywell Electrostatic air cleaner that had continued issues. Phone help was great and they matched a lower priced identical product on the internet. Fast and complete delivery. Installed as expected.

Excellent Product

I was going to use this to replace my old one. I was able to fix the old one by buying the contact kit. I therefore returned this and received a refund. This company is great to deal with,

Great Electronic Furnace Filter

I had purchased a similar version of this product about 30 years ago. The installers were amazed the A coil in the furnace was spotless, so I purchased the new version filter. It has even more cleaning power than the old one.

WE are not happen with this air cleaner

We had one earlier which we bought in 2021 and that quit so they sent us a new one and we can not get this one to work. We talked to Honeywell and they said the metal tabs are not suppose to touch the compotes which not not make sense for it needs to touch in order to work. Would like our money back on this and try something else.

I would buy this product again and again.

The Honeywell air cleaner had a damaged cell that was not allowing the cleaner to operate. I called supply house and explained and I received a complete air cleaner in two days. That's fast. I contacted the customer and replaced the damaged collector cell. A happy customer. Shipping the damaged cell was also very easy. Thank you supply house for the fantastic customer service and product.

Q: I am considering an electronic air cleaner to reduce dust on most surfaces within our residence. How effective is this unit? Is there a better one for this purpose?

Yes, this unit works reasonably well. I chose it over using high-efficiency, 3M Allergan filters because the 3M filters raised the head pressure on my air handler because they were so dense. However, they worked quite well. This unit works reasonably well: with the filters I never had to dust, with this system, I dust monthly. Before either, it was a weekly task. If you do purchase, be careful cleaning it and re-installing the cells-it can be finicky in that regard. In my research, this was the largest residential unit I found that wouldn't break the bank.

it works fine at my home T-Mobile. America’s First Nationwide 4G Network

Dont know about dust reduction. However I use it to clean the air going into the furnace and that is what it is for.

I have had this filter in my house for about 20 years. I run my furnace fan 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It does have a pre and post filter. The main cells need to be washed at least once a year. You will be surprised on how much dirt and micro particles will be in the water after you wash the cells. You will always have dust on your surfaces, but the dust will be greatly reduced especially if the fans runs all the time and if you change or clean the cold air return filter monthly.

According to the manufacturer, the filters used with the F300A1625 are a metal mesh pre-filter and a media type post-filter. We do not show a carbon filter for use with the F300A1625. The pre-filter may be cleaned and the post-filter is a replaceable type.

They're pretty much the size of the unit NOT including the power supply. My ducting was around 21x26, so I just bought some metal, cut it into 4" strips, bent it into a 90deg, and used that to join the ducting to the unit. The EAC sits on my 90deg strips that I made.
