The SC5811 programmable thermostat has four periods (MORN, DAY, EVE, NITE) that are customizable for each day of the week. Each period will have a start time, heat temperature, cool temperature and programmable fan option. The SC5811 monitors the day and time, while maintaining the specific conditions you have chosen for each period in your program.

Useless appliance
We are using our oven to heat the house until we can obtain a replacement for this thermostat. The control labels are ambiguous and the documentation is almost impossible to read. We have owned this for 2 days and we will be replacing it today. Someone needs to redesign this control, and properly document its replacement

I must buy this as a replacement
I bought this as a replacement for a failed unit. It works but - it's display is small and thus hard to read status lines such as program mode or AM/PM. The control button choices don't make sense - switching program on/off requires pushing fan and system at the same time, while fan is a dedicated button. When's the last time you used fan? And all initial button pushes are ignored except to turn on the back light - except that prog double push! On the up side it has lots of program flexability.

Replacing existing
Didn't choose it - just replacing a failed unit. It's OK but not wonderful. Worst "features": The display is small and the program mode status is hard to see at all. The toggle to enter/leave program mode is a two button push - dumb.
I like buttons instead of a touch screen. Programming is easy but I've been using SC units for 15 or more years so I know how.
Of course, Supply House as always is a delight to deal with.

Good Looks Can Be Misleading
Pros: Easy to Install-Nice Looking
Cons: Clock Don't Keep Correct Time Making The Scheduled Programs Worthless: Did Not Operate The Heat Pump Correctly Even In The Manual Mode.(Was set For 77, Wake Up To 70 & Dropping) Display Went Out Within 2 Weeks. Would Recommend Getting A Honeywell.
