Description

The F261 Series Flow Switches respond to fluid flow in lines carrying water, ethylene glycol, or other nonhazardous fluids. These models also work in applications with swimming pool water and lubricating oils.

F261 Series Standard Flow Switches use a variety of paddle sizes to respond to fluid flow rates in applications with pipe sizes greater than 1 inch trade size.

Features and Benefits
  • Type 4 (NEMA) enclosure allows use in indoor or outdoor applications.
  • Viton® diaphragms allow use in fluid lines carrying chlorinated water, treated water, or other nonhazardous fluids
  • Low-flow operation on low-flow models actuates switch with less than 1.0 GPM (3.8 L/min) flow for water applications or 9.0 GPM (34.1 L/min) flow for steam applications.
  • Maximum fluid pressure of 290 psig (20 bar) permits use in a wide range of pressure flow conditions.

l'd buy this again

I used this flow switch to inject chlorine into a home filtering system. I needed a switch sensitive enough to work when a low flow basin faucet was turned on. It works great!

Not So Low Flow

Please note that this switch has a MINIMUM flow to turn on of 2GPM in the 3/4"size. So you will be lucky to activate it with any low-flow faucets. If you need a truly low-flow switch, please check out SKU: 115400 which has always been my go-to. It costs a lot more, but it will actually work with a normal faucet.

caution , caution, caution, buyer beware

I, all so had a hard time adjusting this device . when you install it, add unions because you may have to replace it soon. and you cant just replace the head you need to replace the whole body.

Frequent failures

Unit was used on a multistage wash down system. Frequent failures, any vibration of pipe or someone bumping into it cause it to turn on, sometimes wouldn't respond at all, seals failed filling the unit with water at one point.

data sheet claims the minimum flow rates and sensitivity but it's a hit and miss with this, You can not relay on it.

Nice unit, but always on?

I installed this unit to switch an outlet on when there was water flow in the line. I installed it (1/2" unit) with 6" of pipe on either side per the instructions (says 5x the diameter which would be 2.5" on a 1/2" unit so I figured 6" would be enough). From the moment I pressurized the line, the unit is always on. I have continuity between the red and blue terminals, whether there is water flow or not (and now even if I depressurize the line). I know I have no water flow because I can isolate the section its installed in by closing a couple of ball valves (not pictured). What am I not "getting" here? I need to be able to provide power to an outlet only when there is water flow, any other suggestions if this isn't what I need?

What the heck?

Everything, purchase and delivery, was excellent. Great! However, the new valve failed to work once installed. All criteria met. Indeed, the new one I ordered was exactly like the old one. Adjusting had no effect. Same old water pressure. Exact same placement. What the heck?
