- Sounder Alarm – The KN-COEG-3 offers a loud 85-decibel pulsing alarm that will sound to alert you to a potential problem. Alarm Condition
- Carbon Monoxide – 4 quick beeps, followed by 5 seconds of silence, followed by 4 quick beeps. Repeat with a number showing in the display (CO concentration in ppm).
- Gas –one second of alarm on, one second of alarm off, repeating with “GAS” shown in display.

was good till it went off in middle of night to tell me END
I liked this unit because it read both natural gas and CO with a display of amount
i have old one that still works that just read CO so i put it in boiler room.
but this model was really annoying when with no warning after about 8 years it started alarming at 2 am to say END on display their idea of a nice way to say its getting old and has decided to not work anymore and self-destruct because just a light or display would be way too nice.

I have been using Kidde CO detectors for over 25 years. I noticed my last one was installed in 2006; so it was time for a replacement. This time I ordered three, one for each level of the house.
This model includes an explosive gas alarm which is a definite plus.
Highly recommended.

Direct replacement
I have had this same detector operating in my home for the past 8 years. As indicated in the instructions the device needs to be replaced on a schedule. When the old unit showed that it was time for replacement, I did not hesitate to purchase the exact same unit after a trouble-free experience. My only "complaint" is that the original unit was provided with a lithium battery that lasted the life of the product but the new one has an alkaline 9V. which will probably need to be replaced at some time.
