Description

Note: The model 441 battery backup pump is getting an upgrade to the charger. All 441's and PC-Series with 441's will be receiving a 1.5-amp charger instead of the 1-amp charger currently used. This is a 50% increase in charging capacity. Also, the new charging unit mounts to the wall and has a power cord that goes to the 115V outlet. The old charger plugged directly into the wall outlet covering both sockets and rendering the second outlet unusable. All functionality remains the same and new chargers are backwards compatible for replacement and service of existing systems in the field.

Short Electrical Cord

The unit worked well; however, there was one problem. The electrical wire for the pump motor is approximately 12 feet long. The pump switch electrical wire was only about 10 feet long. In other, words the pump switch wire was two feet shorter than the pump motor wire. I had to have my electrician come back out and move the electrical box because the pump switch electric wire was too short.

Q: Do you install this pump INSIDE the house for fear of it freezing in the winter and being unable to work?

Yes, there is a risk of the water supply line freezing and the water in the discharge line freezing if installed outdoors. This would damage the unit .The pump is designed for indoor use protected from freezing conditions.
