This one contailed the missing part
I just needed the plastic piece which connects the handle link to the water control valve. For some reason Moen chose not to include it in the regular parts replacement kit. So I had to order the adapter kit after I had ordered the replacement kit to get the plastic part I needed. Dumb thinking on Moen's part..

I could not get a plumber so I ordered this kit and fixed the faucet myself. Quick 2 day delivery. My only complaint is that the instructions that came with it were of no value.
