pH-Treat is a new in-line treatment product specific for the treatment of the condensate water produced by todays high efficiency furnaces.
The condensate produced by these furnaces is acidic and must be neutralized prior to putting to the drain. In fact, some communities are passing regulations banning the discharge of acidic condensate. Introducing pH-Treat, a product to put on the drain line for the purpose of neutralizing the acid nature of the condensate water produced.

Neutralizes Rinnai RU98i condensate
I tested the output from this filter using aquarium PH test kit. The condensate is being generated by a Rinnai RU98i. The test indicated condensate is 7.2 which is very close to neutral. I didn't test the untreated side. I have cast iron pipes, so I was concerned about long-term damage caused by acidic drainage.

Works but short Service Life
The Service Life is terrible you never know when it will clog up and stop flowing out water. I never had one last 12months. First one lasted my 7 months figure I'd play it safe and replace every 6 months. Nope next one only lasted 3 months and you have no Service Life indicator on the unit so you only know when you see water backing up in the line. Hopefully you catch it early or you end up with water all over the floor. Going to look for another alternative as this was installed with my new furnace.
