Worked like magic - with some prep!
For years my central air had a slight musty smell and has gotten worse over time. Since Covid prevented me from using a duct cleaning service - I decided to clean them the best I could. Started by removing all vent covers, scrubbing them and cleaning with simple green. The I soaked them in white vinegar (odor neutralizer). Then I spray painted with rustoleum to clean them up. Then we vacuumed all vents and cleaned with simple green as far as we should. Then we used the evap coil cleaner on the air handler - and scrubbed inner vents with simple green and white vinegar. Last step was hanging the odor block right next to the blower - love the fresh smell!! Hope it lasts. We can smell the difference immediately!!

Not particularly impressed
Although our new Amana (wish I had bought a Trane) HVAC system did not have an really bad case of mold in the handler, we did have some build-up. We live in NC and things get pretty humid around here. We had a pretty bad case of DSS (Dirty Sock Syndrome) I went under the house myself and cleaned out the mold with PineSol and put in a new filter and followed up with the Nu-Calgon odor block. Things seemed to freshen up for a few days and that's about it. Although the smell is nowhere near as bad as it was, we do get an occasional whiff of unfresh. For $ 49 and about 1/2 hour of time, I am going to install a pair of UV lamps down there. The company that installed the system (who will remain nameless) wanted $ 900-$1400 to do that.

Clean smelling house
When buying a product online you get a little skeptical. I really haven't noticed the smell until we had been gone for the weekend. Coming home to a fresh clean smell and not a musty closed up house is a big plus for me. I will be buying again and plan to buy one for the family lake house.

I plan to repurchase in a couple months.
I wanted to try this product and place it in the return ductwork and I didn't have a lot of confidence that it would make a difference. I was surprised. I left home and returned about an hour later and I could detect the fragerance. It was not strong but strong enough that I knew it was making a difference.
