Oatey Quiet Pipes Hammer Arrestors shall be installed in any diameter pipe supply
application which could experience water hammer due to quick closing valves
or faucets. Arrestor chambers shall be specifically sized to accommodate and
dissipate energy generated by such valves and faucets. Arrestors shall be
effective when installed at any angle. Arrestor shall be lead-free, made of copper
and include a polypropylene piston with two NBR o-rings. Arrestors shall be ANSI/
ASSE1010-2004 certified and approved for installation with no access panel
required.

Works OK, but has not completely eliminated the problem
I've added this product to my lawn irrigation system, which was causing a water hammer "bang" when a valve would shut off. Hard to fairly rate a product after only using it a few days. The product has reduced the loudness of the "bang" when the valve shuts off, but has not eliminated it completely. The product is a Type B. I probably need a Type C - if that is how the scale goes - or install a second unit to reduce the "bang" further or eliminate it completely. It just may not work in my case but may work for others or in a different application. I would not recommend it at this time until I can fully resolve the issue.

Great Device, no more banging pipes
Ever since I purchased a new washer last year my pipes have been banging. I tried reducing the pressure to the washer which reduced the noise but I was not able to eliminate it. This hammer arrestor completely eliminated all signs of banging. Great device.
