I used this to tie a new downspout drain into an existing 3" drainpipe. It did require a small sheet of closed-cell foam about 1/8" thick, as a gasket, but that was easy to find. To tighten the nuts I used a screwdriver-style nut driver that has a deep hole extending into its shaft, and a small crescent wrench for the last few turns. Before installing this saddle, you should loosely connect all the pieces that connect above it, to decide exactly where to drill the big hole under the saddle. To get all your pieces to fit, you can tilt the saddle off plumb or slide it further along the pipe if need be, until you get it just right. Then mark and drill your hole, etc, and away you go. I tried ordering this item from Amazon, but after telling me it had shipped, they suddenly told me it was unavailable. SupplyHouse had it, cheaper even after shipping costs, and it arrived in just a few days, well-packed. Happy camper.
