Description
Note: Thermostat is sold separately. HBBT1 for single pole OR HBBT2 for double pole.
A sheathed electric heating element is totally immersed in a heat-transfer liquid and sealed in a heater-length copper tube. The large diameter reservoir maximizes the volume of heat storage fluid to prolong the thermal constant of the entire heater. Gentle heat keeps radiating even after the thermostat turns off because of the hydronic elements retention qualities.
GO-ANYWHERE DESIGN. The entire unit mounts flush to any wall and flat on any floor - wood, carpet or tile. The trim, three-inch thick functional design and low operating temperatures allow carpeting to be installed up to and around the baseboard.
QUALITY INSIDE AND OUT. Heavy-duty welded steel louvered grilles discourage insertion of foreign objects and direct heat outward into the room. Designer-style junction boxes are made of high-strength Lexan+ to resist scratches and wear marks. Built-in cut-off automatically shuts down the heater should any overheating occur.

41 QuestionsQ: We will be installing wainscoting with new wiring behind it for heaters. How high off the floor is the 1/2" knockout in the back of these units? Cannot find it in specs.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThis can be dependent on the existing wiring that you will be using for your application. More often than not a double pole would work for this baseboard heater.
Q: I now have regular electric baseboard heat in my home controlled by a wall thermostat, I want to replace them with the hydronic electric baseboard heaters and still be able to have a wall thermostat in each room instead of thermostat on the unit itself. Can this be done and what all do I need to order besides the heaters themselves?

Q: Are these units paintable, and if so, do they require special heat resistant paint? Please advise as I would like to install these in a downstairs family room which has dark wood wainscoting and chair rail, so I'd prefer a dark brown finish to blend in with the decor.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffThe painted heater cabinet may be cleaned using a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or waxes as these may damage the finish or leave a residue that will discolor. If it becomes necessary to repaint heater, use only a quality enamel paint suitable for metal surfaces following the instructions provided with the paint. DO NOT paint the heating element or safety limit capillary tube. Repaint only the exterior of the cabinet.
Q: In our master bathroom we have too limited space for a baseboard application. However, there are three doors where the units can be placed above the jamb, with 10' ceilings. Not as efficient as floor level, but still effective?

Q: I have a well insulated all electric home in Ohio heated ONLY with standard electric baseboard heaters. I removed the baseboard unit in our bedroom hallway because we have large long haired dogs that like to sleep out there at night. By laying against the baseboard heater, there was a danger that their fur might reach in and touch the heating element! Since the QMark Electric Hydronic baseboard heater's element is encased in a chamber of liquid, and since it apparently has a lower operating temperature, would these heaters be safe to use where a long haired pet might sleep against them?

We've had this product in a bedroom for several years and have been very happy with it. It is indeed sealed and doesn't get hot like others...and does a great job. I can't see how it would be a problem for long-haired animals.

Q: I have 2 electric baseboard heaters(non-hydronic) running through a thermostat and a 220v 20 amp circuit. I was considering replacing this with the 58" and 94" hydronic heaters to provide a more even heat. Will my circuit handle the heaters?

Q: I have a 780 sq. ft house in central maine. It has great insulation and windows. I want to install backup electric baseboard heating it needs to keep house approx. 65 degrees when 15 degrees outside. What do I need as far as btu s or watts.

There is a conversion factor for calculating watts needed for heating square footage of a space. You're going to need at least 2500-3000 watts, if not more for that much space and that much temperature elevation. Installing solar panels might also be necessary to keep your electric bill from skyrocketing. I decided against heating the entire house with these units and went with a mini-split heat pump system which also gave us A/C in the summer, too.
