–
Product Overview:
- The TRADELINE® SV9541 SmartValve System Controls combine gas flow control and electronic intermittent pilot sequencing functions into a single unit. The Q3450 or Q3480 Pilot hardware supplies the low voltage igniter, flame sensor and pilot burner. These ignition system controls provide all gas ignition safety functions by controlling gas flow, ignition source, and a 120 Vac or 240 Vac combustion air blower. The controls also monitor the appliance airflow proving switch and limit string to assure proper appliance operation, and provide prepurge, postpurge, and timed trial for pilot ignition with 100 percent shutoff and continuous retry. A diagnostic LED indicates system status.
- These controls communicate directly with an electronic fan timer (ST9160 Electronic Fan Timer for single stage applications; ST9162 Electronic Fan Timer for two-stage applications) in typical forced warm air furnace applications
- They also interface with the 208907 Terminal Board, providing compatibility with power stealing thermostats. Or, they directly interface with the appropriate power supplies and a system thermostat for additional appliance applications
- When controlled directly by a thermostat, these controls do not provide a postpurge function, because power to the control is removed when the thermostat call for heat ends
- The SV9541 Systems are suitable for a wide range of fan-assisted combustion gas-fired appliances including furnaces, rooftop furnaces, boilers, unit heaters, infrared heaters, water heaters and commercial cooking appliances

The AC tech came and said, "That was one really smart system you had me put in. With something like that, when it breaks, its gonna cost ya. Too bad the warranty is out or we might have some room on price. However, its gonna cost you $600 for the valve and about that to install it. I gotta run right now, but let me know so I can get that thing ordered cause its gonna take about two weeks to get it." He left, I looked at the valve, got the part number glowing on the side of it, got on line, put the part number in, got that it was at PEX, ordered it, got it in two days, took me 30 minutes to install it, and it fired right up. The part cost me $190+. Saving me having to ever call that guy or any like them, and $1000!

The 2-stage model has a Q in the suffix. I bought SKU: SV9541Q2561 from PAX which is the 2-stage version. The single stage model has an M in the suffix. I replaced the unit in 15 min. Todd

There is no difference in the specifications of the two, the SV9541Q2561 is a universal replacement, meant to reduce the need for a large inventory of parts. It is designed to replace several valve models instead of just one.

Q: I have a SV9540M2245 Valve & was sold a SV9541Q 2561 for a replacement. Is this the correct replacement? It has 2 wires connected to a male plug and there doesn't appear to be a connection for that plug? If this is the wrong replacement, what number will I need?
