I found the installation quite easy, I used to shark bite max fittings to attach using pex.
Installing the app was a little bit on the froggy side.
It seemed to have Bluetooth, which will connect your phone to the valve. And then you will program your Wi-Fi into the valve from there.
I'm adding this review just for the electrical consideration of the size of the plug for the unit.
Since I am installing this right next to my water heater, however it is going to be connected to my main waterline coming in so that if the water heater leaks, it will shut off all the water to the house.
As such, I will be plugging it in near the water heater, so I decided to use a weather rated GFCI receptacle along with a cover so that water does not splash onto the plug and caused a short where the valve could not close in a leak situation.
I will attempt to add some photographs, but just note that the design of the plug is that it is a horizontal box style, and therefore will not fit into a weatherproof cover unless you potentially make some modifications/cut out the side for a more custom fit.
Just wanted to put that out there.

Make Sure To Buy An Additional Sensor Rope
I Have Been Installing These On Waterheaters Lately. Works Well With The App And The Motor And Valve Seem To Be Good Qulaity. HOWEVER for Some Reason The Sensor Rope Is 5ft Long And Plugs Into The Motor Which Is Installed On Top Of A Waterheater. The Average Waterheater i See Is About 5ft Tall So After Piping And All The Sensor Does Not Reach The Floor Under The Waterheater. The Cord Should Be Minimum 8ft. Its Easy To Extend With The Additional Cord With The Plug On The End But Its Ridiculous That The Cord Is That Short. Resideo Needs To Rethink That. Otherwise Its A Decent Product

Buy the extra cord
You will need the WLD3CABLE extra cord if you put this above a tank water heater. The cord for the water sensor is only 5 feet long and didn't reach the pan! Even the power cord was 8 feet long. Otherwise worked great and seems like a good product.

Simple and does what it was designed to do
Connected to the wifi easy, app was simple, and had no monthly payment. I am a master plumber and this was the only trustworthy product available that turns of water to the whole house and detects leaks anywhere without a large investment, was made from metal and not some plastic device, and did not require monthly fees to have control to your phone.

I would buy this again!
I like the idea of the product. I have not had to really put it to the test and hope that I won't have to. But its nice to know it can save me from some major water damage. I'm still waiting on the remote sensors to make the protection complete and to test everything out.
I will however have to do something about the wifi signal strength. I occasionally lose connection to the valve for several hours at a time.

Leak protection plus more
I installed this on a water heater in our master bedroom closet. It was easy to install and appears to work as intended. I tested it by getting the sensor rope wet, and the valve shut off. Contrary to another reviewer's opinion, it is very useful to have this connected to the water heater, rather than the whole house water input. If the water heater leaks, it can be fixed without losing water to the entire house. One feature which I really like is the ability to schedule maintenance where the valve shuts off and back on once a week, or whenever you schedule. In the past, ball shut off valves have stopped working properly because of mineral buildup. I know it is recommended to operate the valves periodically to "exercise" them, but who does that? I appreciate the recommendation to get an extension sensor rope which I needed because the device is near the top of the tall water heater.

Product works great!
I wouldn't use this to shut off a water heater as another person commented. These are designed to do the entire home. Why would you do just the water heater anyway? If there is a leak on the water heater put one of the remote sensors in the drain pain. The remote sensors talk to the main L5 shut off and will turn off the water to the house letting the customer know there is a problem right away. The app allows the customer to turn off the water to the home remotely as well. The 3 star rating because the wick doesn't reach the floor is silly. That's not what they are designed to do.
