So Far, So Good
This was the correct part, and it installed easily. The instructions I got on-line (I don't remember getting instructions with the part) said to tighten to 13-15 foot-pounds. I bailed out at about 10 (estimated) and it did not leak. Having once wrenched one of those elements too tightly, breaking the interior seal and causing an unfixable leak that cost me about $1,200 in the purchase a new water heater, I was a bit concerned about doing this one, but all is well.

Exact replacement part!
Took longer to drain the hot water tank than to install the new bottom element. Would have been hard to remove the old element without the wrench. Very satisfied.
