Product is good but installation instructions are flawed
Purchased a Rinnai remote control thermostat adapter from Supply House. Included with the product is a photocopy of the instruction manual. Unfortunately, the wiring instructions from Rinnai are inaccurate. After calling into Rinnai's technical support I was able to obtain the correct wiring instructions. When properly wired the unit works as expected.
No knock on Supply House. They accepted a return on the first unit I had been shipped (because it wasn't working given the inaccurate wiring instructions provided by Rinnai) and sent me another. When that also didn't work I called Rinnai for tech support and that's when I was told that the wiring instructions that came with the unit were wrong.

Poor instructions
I'd expected some quality control from Rinnai. The instructions with this thermostat kit were copies of copies, requiring me to call for technical support just to find out where to mount the control board. And in the end, the control board didn't work. Rinnai mailed me a replacement. We'll try again.
But it's the only way to get a thermostat control on the wall mounted direct vent heaters.

WiFi to the rescue!!
Used for a Rinnai through the wall LP heater. Simple and straightforward installation. Works fine and allows us to integrate this heater with our home automation control.

Does what it says
My floor stays fairly cool with minimal insulation under where my heater is installed so I wanted to get away from using the floor-adjacent built-in thermostat which resulted in the room heating warmer or colder based on outdoor temp (+/- 4 degrees room temp). Replacing it with a wall mounted unit seemed like it would result in more stable temp, and so far this has been the result.
Does what it says, pretty straightforward install. Watched a youtube video on how to wire it up after reading previous reviews that the wiring info was a bit ambiguous.

Worked as advertised
Worked as advertised but the instructions were less than clean. Had to hunt YouTube to find a previous buyer who had figured it out. Nevertheless, we really appreciate the thermostat option. One other critique: the transformer is huge and requires special consideration as to where to place the electrical outlet behind the heater ( we added a outlet behind the heater as part of installation)

Everything works. The wiring instructions are bad
After spending an hour and a half trying to figure out how I shorted out the first transformer, I spoke with tech-support, who provided me the picture. I have attached to this review, which has the correct wiring diagram for a thermostat that needs a common. Please pay good attention to the direction of the outlet shown in the picture. Also when you're looking at the two black wires, the blue wire that's directly across from the black wire is the common wire. The opposite wire gets wire nutted to the white wire. The C wire for the thermostat gets put on the same terminal as the black wire.
