THE CONTROL CAN BE MOUNTED IN ANY POSITION EXCEPT UPSIDE DOWN AND ALL MODELS HAVE 3-POSITION OUTLETS.
The 710 low capacity gas heating valves are designed for recreational vehicles and other applications with limited space. All models include a manual valve (gas cock), automatic pilot safety valve, pilot outlet, pilot gas filter and pilot adjusting key.

Perfect replacement
I used this gas valve with the recommended thermopile snap action and pilot to repair an old gas fireplace system. After several visits to local repair shops I decided to do it myself. I used the same piping and had some troubles with the pilot, but used the pilot orifice off the old system and everything fired up just like new. The only thing I had to get was some new pipe dope. Can't be much easier than that.
If you have a fireplace from a manufacturer that doesn't exist anymore and the fireplace box is in good condition, Just tear out that old stuff and replace it with this. You'll save a couple thousand bucks in the process.

Loose terminal screw
I used this valve to rebuild my aging Earth Stove gas stove. The only complaint I have about the valve was a loose terminal screw that kept it from powering up. Luckily, I had the right tool to tighten the screw and it worked fine after that. Just a bit of sloppy assembly. So three stars instead of five.

Perfect replacement valve
Purchased to replace an older Robertshaw valve on my fireplace that was not functioning properly. This valve was slightly different. Was able to work around my thermocouple by using this newer valve.

Q: I notice this has a black wire running from where the thermocouple originally hooked up. It appears this only uses a thermopile and no thermocouple ???? will it work for a robert shaw 7000 mvrb-5-lc ? Is there a cheaper alternative that will work with 7000 mvrb-5-lc ?

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffMillivolt units use a thermopile not a thermocouple. The 710-503 does show as the correct replacement for 7000MVRB-5-LC.
