This product is compatible with all pumps up to 15 amps and 33 amps on the start-up.
1622PS Pump Sentry is among the most advanced and reliable sump pump emergency battery backup systems available. It interfaces between a pump and its AC wall outlet. When AC utility power is present, the 1622PS charges a battery and channels power from the wall outlet to the pump while monitoring that wall outlet for power outage. At the moment utility power fails, the 1622PS substitutes its own generated AC power necessary for pump operation by converting energy from the battery. When utility power is restored, the 1622PS automatically switches the pump back to the AC wall outlet's power. At the same time the 1622PS resumes the charging of the battery to return it to full capacity in preparation for the next power failure.

To determine compatibility with pump: User should verify that steady state pump current does not exceed 14A

I have a 3/4 hp pump with specs of 7.5 amps and 900 watts. I assume this is running, not surge. Can I safely use your 822PS or must I go to your 1622PS?….Thank you….GBS

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffHello, thanks for writing in. Yes, these can be used in applications other than pumps so long as it is staying below rated output. Lithium batteries cannot be used. Per SEC America tech support: Technically you should be able to use the 822PS for your application. However, it depends on the nature of the pump. If it is used to move solids the 822PS is not suited due to the periodic demand to push heavy material through the system. Same is true for a well pump which has the tough job of moving heavy columns of water up from the ground. If it is an ordinary sump pump, it should be OK.
