Description

SharkBite EvoPEX Elbows are engineered to improve efficiency and enable plumbing contractors to optimize install time with clean, leak-free PEX installations at a 90-degree angle. With no soldering, clamps, unions or glue required, it’s as simple as inserting PEX pipe into the fitting deep enough to be sealed by our specially-formulated O-ring.
Once inserted, the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe. A green indicator ring will become fully visible in four slots around the fitting to visually display that the permanent inner-diameter connection is secure. This push-to-connect fitting is designed to make PEX-to-PEX connections in potable water and radiant heating (including underground or behind-the-wall) applications with no access panels required.
Fittings are rated to 80 psi @ 200°F, 100 psi @ 180°F, and 160 psi @ 73.4°F.

Good PEX fitting
I have used these fittings in tight areas where other PEX fittings requiring a tool would be impossible to install. I consider them a step up from regular Sharkbite fittings in the case of PEX usage and less expensive. They are polymer and seal on the inside of the PEX not the outside like standard Sharkbites so they don't require a stiffening sleeve. They can require considerable force to push on to the PEX but have a green indicator to show they are fully seated. They are not removable. They can only be used on PEX piping as they seal internally with an O-ring. Overall, another good option for PEX installation without the need for a tool.
