Very Handy

A must have if you have pex plumbing in your house. I bought this item and a 3/8" x1/2" Pipe to Female Pipe Thread Connector to repair a bathroom sink spiquet. The disconnect allows you to remove the fitting from the pex tubing again and again if necessary. When your finished with the job, just clip the disconnect onto the pex tubing under the sink just in case you need it again someday!

Simple but necessary..

This removal tool will make it so much easier to remove the sharkbite fittings if you make a mistake or if you are repairing a line.Slide over the tube and push back against fitting and it separates.

Q: After using the disconnect clip to remove a sharkbite fitting from pex tubing can the sharkbite fitting be re-used on pex tubing? thanks, Samuel

Yes, the design of the Sharkbite ... allows unlimited reuse after removal from tubing. It is wise to look at the seal (o-ring) and the sharkbite (teeth) locking clips ... for any visible damage. But, typically .... the fitting may be used over and over again..!!! (if removed properly)

Hi Samuel- The fittings can definitely be re-used on new/re-cut Pex. It's a big advantage to me. Good luck, Peter G.

Yes. Make sure the inner sleeve is in tact and that you've de-burred the tubiiing to be inserted. You shoulod be able to re-use the fittings over and over again.

Q: I need a disconnect clip for 5/8" fittings. I don't see this size listed.

The manufacturer is not offering the 5/8" disconnect clip or tongs so we are unable to list it.

Hi, I found that if you do not have the special removal tool that an open end wrench that just fits over the tubing, in your case it's probably a 3/4" will do the job just fine. In my case the Sharkbite fitting was 3/4" & I used a 7/8" open end wrench and it worked to perfection. Just slide it over the pipe, press it against the plastic ring that protrudes on the end of the connector & easily pull apart the connector from the pipe...
