Description

The TacoGenie delivers hot water comfort and convenience to faucets and taps "On Command" 24 hours a day, and at the same time it saves water, energy and money. Have hot water at your fingertips whenever you turn the faucet. Stop wasting water as you wait for cold to turn to hot. Stop burning energy as you wait for warm to turn warmer. The TacoGenie™ puts an end to the waste, and the wait, forever.

Kit Includes
  • (1) Remote Receiver
  • (3) Wire Nuts
  • (1) Remote Transmitter Button

Features:
  • Runs only when activated by the user.
  • Is available 24 hours per day / 7 days a week.
  • Automatically senses when water is hot enough.
  • Saves water, energy and money.
  • Saves construction costs; No new return line needed and no need to drain the system.
  • Simple installation.

How the TacoGenie Works:

The TacoGenie is a small, silent pump attached to your hot and cold water lines in the cabinet under your most remote kitchen or bath fixture. When TacoGenie is activated, the cool water you normally let run down the drain is circulated back to the water heater through the cold water line.

Instantly the pump circulates hot water from the water heater, and returns the cooled water back through the cold water line. When the hot water arrives at the faucet, the TacoGenie heat sensor and control board shut off the pump to prevent pumping excess hot water into the cold water line.

Activate the TacoGenie only when you need it:

TacoGenie only runs when you tell it to, and it’s smart enough to know when the water currently in the line is hot enough. TacoGenie can be activated with the push of a button, or with an optional wireless remote transmitter/receiver or optional hard-wired motion sensor.

Easy To Install:

The TacoGenie not only saves water and energy, it saves in construction costs as well. No new return line is necessary; no need to drain the system; no demolition and repair. In fact, TacoGenie can be installed in just eight simple steps

A great way to save:

TacoGenie operates 24 hours a day to save you water, energy and money. What’s more, it’s made by Taco, known by plumbing professionals as a world leader in high quality hydronic components since 1920. The average home may waste over 12,000 gallons of water per year while waiting for hot water. Stop wasting and start saving with a TacoGenie.

Tacogenie remote works great!

We bought our Tacogenie a few months ago and have been extremely pleased. We wanted to wait a couple of months to make sure it worked before adding the remotes. We have guests coming so we decided to give the remote a try, since the only way to activate the Tacogenie initially was from the master bath. It was easy to set up and and it activates from all over our 2500 SF house. A couple of notes that might be helpful for others: -Connecting the remote to the Tacogenie was easy but it did NOT automatically start the recirculation. -The remote did not come paired out of the box but it was easy to pair. -Our Tacogenie we bought 3 months ago was set to 12V. The trouble shooting instructions suggest checking this on the unit if the unit does not recirculate as soon as the remote transmitter is attached. The remote worked fine by simply re-pairing. -If you do need to check the voltage, unscrew the 2 screws on the top of the Tacgenie and remove the green metal top. You will see the circuit board which can be manually removed without any tools by gently pulling on the sides. The green circuit board is connected by metal tips that are under the black piece you will see. The diagram in the instructions was not clear. Once removed, flip it over and you will see the voltage switch.

Great Product - Perhaps buy elsewhere

This was an excellent addition to my TacoGenie system - once it worked. The first unit was DOA. Second unit was also DOA. On the second unit, I tried some new batteries in the remote, and it started working again. Turns out, both remotes had weak batteries and would not trigger the relay. I asked Supplyhouse to credit me $10 to cover the batteries I had to go purchase for this, and they obliged. I believe all of their stock is from ~2019 (I saw date codes on the boxes) and these units are all around four years old, so the batteries don't work. I didn't get the impression on the phone that they were going to do anything about this, and will continue selling their units with dead remote batteries. It might be safer purchasing from somewhere else unless Supplyhouse clears out their stock soon... but I don't think this is a hot seller.

Works awesome

We have a tankless type water heater. Found ourselves waiting for hot water constantly. We have the genie pump installed in our master bathroom. We added the remote transmitter to the pump and placed the remote in a kitchen cabinet. This allow us to run the pump with a push of a button from 2 locations. Pump runs for about a minute and shuts off when water is hot. Two thumbs up. Remote works great

Taco Remote Transmitter & Receiver Model 554-7

The remote Transmitter & Receiver did not work at a good distance. A replacement did not work any better. The working distance was only 10 to 12 feet instead of 30 to 40 feet. The Receiver was visible when I tried it and would only receive from a short distance.

My first one failed.

I purchased this and installed it in my home. It worked about 9 months and failed. I contacted supply house and they provided a swap. I had to return the old part before the new one was shipped. The second one is working fine. I wish it had a longer range. My pump is locate at the furthest point in my system

The range of the remote receiver is approximately 70 feet. The actual distance will depend on reception.
