Description

IMPORTANT: Vents/chimneys utilizing in-line draft inducers must be vertically terminated above the roof line. Do NOT use for side wall venting.

Please see "Submittal Sheet" PDF for a BTU input chart by pipe size.

Overview
Tjernlund in-line draft inducers assure positive draft when restricted boilers and furnaces, poor chimneys or negative pressures in buildings prevent proper exhaust of combustion gases. The venturi action starts air moving up the stack instantly & keeps it moving smoothly. These units are quick and easy to install and completely automatic in operation. In-line draft inducers are built for long-lasting, trouble-free service and available in sizes and capacities to meet virtually all heating system requirements. The Vari-Draft control permits adjustment to individual job requirements.

Solves Venting Problems Caused by:
Undersized chimneys, negative pressures, long horizontal vent connectors, down drafts, cold equipment starts, restrictive heat exchangers/combustion chambers

Typical Applications:
Boilers/furnaces, water heaters, modular boiler systems, multiple appliances, bakery ovens, factory processes

Most Liked Positive Review

create positive ventilation

Helps keep flue gases flowing to the outside on water heater installation in a building that has slightly negative air pressure. Low electric usage and lightweight. Mounting onto stack can be a little cumbersome. Quality of this brand has always served well.

I would buy these again, but missing parts

Was disappointed that it did not have the screws and clips to mount to the stacking material.

Sturdy build, runs 24x7 for years

I built another coal stove chimney and like my 10 year old one, added one of these to assure no backdrafts and safe lighting. It runs all the time even in summer (to vent radon). Quiet and effective. 115 Watts.

I will buy more products from Supply House

draft inducer for an outside wood furnace. It only lasts 2 to 3 seasons. The price is reasonable and far cheaper than a local heating company

Makes things positive

Used to keep flue gas going up the stack in a building that has slightly negative air pressure due to exhaust fans. Compact and easy on the electric usage. Can be a challenge to get mounted neatly to stack. This brand has always served well.

Product Q&A

Q: Does this unit have a delay off timer built in that is adjustable or is this just power on with the burner and off when burner shuts down? Will be used on small oil furnace with outside chimney (poor draft when cold) . Replacing an older failed unit. Just can't tell if other controls are needed.

Hello, thanks for writing in. I do not see that this inducer has a timer. Oil burning installations and gas-fired units without a draft hood/diverter should include a barometric draft control. This should be adjusted to slightly open at maximum draft. The barometric control will then open further to regulate draft as external conditions change to lessen effect required by the inducer.

Q: Do you make a booster for horizontal flue piping

The booster may be mounted on horizontal vent piping, but on the bottom to prevent from creating a heat trap. The description is just to clarify that the venting termination must be vertically terminated above the roof line if you want to install this booster anywhere along the line. I hope this helps clarify.
