X-165 Wireless Base Unit, 6 Zones

Had a manifold that was controlled by 1 thermostat. Was able to split each zone by room. Works with wireless thermostats, exactly as advertised. Did the installation myself, it was very straightforward.

Wireless thermostat controller for 6 zones/ 8 loops with 5 thermostats. The ability to use a single thermostat for multiple zones/actuators is very useful. Easy installation and interface with the boiler. Also, used a single zone circulating pump relay. Next iteration should have control over wifi with a smartphone app. I had to use the boiler wifi interface, but is only supports boiler control.

I writing this comment to explain how radiant hydronic system operates for some people who have poor knowledge of the system and giving the product 1 star. If anyone is thinking to have "basic programming" for the different times and days for the radiant heat they should consider a different approach to the heating. Radiant hydronic systems are cold fired, meaning that the system operates on low-temperature cycles (120f average depending on wood or tile floors). each cycles takes on average up to 6 hours to change the temperature, so using the scheduled heating will never catch up. Just set it to your comfort temperature when it gets cold and shot it off in spring, whatever the seasons you might have. I would love to see how this system works if somebody in my crew forgot to run the wires. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars if the signal is strong and could penetrate at leas 4 floors of metal floors.

I have installed a couple of these and they are reliable. However if you are thinking about install radiant heat, I would recommend a solution from other vendors instead of Uponor US as the only thermostats offered, T-167 and its analog counterpart, do not provide basic functions such as scheduling. You will have to manually adjust the set temperature for different times of the day. Since you will need multiple thermostats for a typical installation of a radiant heat system, it becomes tedious task that is simply not manageable. It is beyond comprehension that Uponor US chooses not to provide a reasonable solution for systems that usually cost tens of thousands of dollars to install. It is even more frustrating as Uponor EU does provide thermostats that support these features however they are not compatible with X-165 from Uponor US. Unless you manage to get all parts from EU, you are out of luck and even if you did, you would not have warranty coverage.
