Explorer Mini WiFi Residential Digital Programmable Thermostat

Reviewing the Venstar T2000. I'm using this on an old FHW natural gas boiler with no fan, so I've just got a 3-wire setup here (one to power the T2000). You can't disable the fan, but not having a fan works fine; the thermostat doesn't complain or show errors. The Local HTTP API works great with Home Assistant. There aren't any extra hidden buttons like with Venstar's other units, everything is exposed on the front face.

The thing I love most about this thermostat is you can program the turning on and off degrees settings. If you want a 2 or 3 degree swing in teothis unit can do it.

I bought the Venstar T2000 primarily because it offers 'local control' integration with Home Assistant. Basic wiring & setup of the T2000 was straightforward, and I had no issues swapping out the existing thermostat for the T2000. The manual makes clear how it should be wired, and it worked first time. WiFi setup took a little studying, but went well. I'v got more to learn about Home Assistant, but the T2000 integrated with Home Assistant easily. I'm pleased with the T2000 and an attractive price from Supplyhouse.

this is my go-to thermostat for radiant or forced air. I use the dual heat/cool feature to run some tricks (like a radiant wall as primary, and the actual floor as the "2nd stage" (same heat source)). The only application I've found that it lacks is programming the fan only operation - critical for any night time cooling use of an HVAC forced air system!

Works well - I've had to return one out of about 20 so far. Works great, finally has internet access built in. Nice features for interesting designs that utilize multiple stages (which I use to run the system warmer (in heat mode) when energy is cheap/from the sun)

New to this technology. God when did I get old. Took me awhile to figure out what I was doing wrong trying to connect to wifi once I did and it was on my end it was pretty easy to set up. So many options. I can use alexa when home and my phone when I'm away. This was one of .many updates I have made to the house. I have to say I'm very impressed and it was a very good choice in updating. Plenty of youtube videos on how to and the owners manual was very helpful. Between the 2 everything I needed to no was covered. I had recently put in a new router and hadnt quite identified the new ID again my issue. So worth the price

Straightforward install of hardware, and configuring the software was quick & easy, though some of the options felt a bit scattered about. Small form factor is a plus, along with the plain display -- it's a thermostat, not a Rembrandt, and shouldn't be the centerpiece of a wall. I'd definitely buy again. (would love this functionality in the FlatStat form factor).

Used in our warehouse, controlling and monitoring temperature is great to be able to do remotely!

I love this this wifi thermostat. It is extremely simple to set up and to use. I love using Alexa to turn the temp to what ever I want even when I am in bed at night., The home/away button on my mobile app saves me a lot of money on the utilities. I just push the away button when I leave and the home button before I get home. This thermostat has so many features that I cant possibly list them here. More than any wifi thermostat that cost 3 times as much.
