No. An F&T steam trap keeps steam in the unit or system and allows condensate to be released with the least amount of steam escaping- "trapping" the steam. If the elevation of the condensate piping is a problem, a steam trap could make that issue worse. Steam is piped to the top of the trap and condesate is piped to the bottom. The ones we purchased from you did elevate but only maybe a foot at max. It would be best to contact watts on the maximum height.
You can test the trap at a maximum of 15 psi.
