If these are being installed on hot water rads on separate zones , one per zone at the highest point is fine and keep the manual bleed valves in the middle as a rapid bleeder. I have installed on every cast iron rad with no problems.", but they are separate zones . At a minimum if you go to these, then one per zone at the highest point on each floor. Warren Watson
I used these as my bleeder screws in my second floor rooms. Prior to installing these i had no bleeder screws and could not get circulation up there. After installation I had great flow and incredible heat. I was able to bleed out all of the air. Hope that helps. Good luck.
Worked for me. I bought them for the hot water radiators in my 1924 Bungalow style home.
It worked for me. Thanks, Arkady Vakser
Yes Thank you!
According to the manufacturer, this should be in a closed position.
Closed. There is a disc in the valve that swells when wet, shrinks when dry. Operates by drying out the disc when air is present, allowing air to escape. Once air is gone and water hits the disc it swells sealing or stopping any further water from coming out. I love these. Had an apartment that I had to bleed air out of the system several times a winter. Installed these vents, haven't touched the system since, no more air problems.
