Watts 3/4

Gives rock solid safe 120 degree hot water. I installed it in the "upside down T" position with the control knob on the bottom. Though the spec sheet said the max output temp should be 120 degrees, I found it to be well over 130 (with knob at limit) so I had to turn it back to get desired water temp of 120. Not a problem. Highly recommend.

Not quite up to specs

I added this mixing valve to my potable water supply to cut down on the variations in hot water temperature. The maximum rated temperature of 120 F for the mixing valve was not achievable-it will yield no more than 105 F in spite of 140 to 180 F hot water inlet temperature. I used two different thermometers and an IR thermometer to test the water. I adjusted and readjusted the unit several times with no difference in the maximum temperature. Needless to say that 105 F at the mixing valve yields an unacceptably low temperature for the shower (and a very unhappy wife!)

Completely satisfied

I was in need for a temperate mixing valve with pex a fittings. The local plumbing suppliers did not stock, nor where anxious to order it. Supply house had them readily available.

WORKS GREAT UNTIL IT DOESNT

I Took Over A Quality Company That Installed At Least 100 Of These The Past Couple Years, Since Taking Over The Company Ive Done Nothing But Get Call Backs On How These Fail Within A Year—to—two Years Lucky Just Out Of Warranty (perfect) of Course A Handful Are Because Of Hard Water And Blocked Screen. BUT Its Such Nonsense How So Many Are Just Plain Awful, The Incoming Hot Side Plastic Pieces Crack And The Spring Is Garbage. You Want To Talk About Drips!? Ridiculous They Drip Around The Garbage Rubber Screen Gasket, They Drip Around The Cardboard Gasket THEY DRIP FROM SIMPLY TURNING THE HANDLE TO ADJUST, They Drip From The Brass Body. WHY CANT ANYONE MAKE ANYTHING WITH QUALITY, PRICES BEING RIDICULOUS, This Valve Should Be 20$ And Changed Out During Every Maintenance.

Thought it would last longer

Supply House was great speedy delivery. I started using the Taco 3/4" valve 4 years ago. I bought a spare at that time. I thought it would last longer, but it only lasted 4 years (same as the Honeywell 1/2" valves I previously used). I got 2 more as spares from Supply House so I should be good till 2034.

Works pretty well.

Seems to do the job. I have my new water heater set at about 140, and the hot water at the tap is a pretty stable at about 115-120. It was a bit of a PITA to install since it's supposed to be lower than the top of the water heater, so I had to add a bunch of copper to get it done. But in the end I think it was worth it, more hot water with no scald risk. It seems well constructed, we'll see how it lasts over time...

So far so good

Bought this product to replace a taco mixing valve and thought everything was going smoothly until we realized that the nuts from the taco valve are different from the watts or it would've been a lot easier. My brother in law who's a pipe fitter had to cut and solder everything new which took more time but all in all no problems and been around 3 weeks now

loosen top of plastic cap and turn to desired temoerature than tighten cap back down

You have to loosten, the small screw on the handle and pull it out. Then turne it left or right depending on the temperature u want. Tge know has a lock to it and the only way it will turne is if the screw is loose and pulled out. After that just follow the instructions on the tag. Hope this helps. Robert Orban

Loosen screw on top of knob, then lift up on knob and turn; right to decrease temp and left to increase temp.

Hi To adjust the temp of the water: Take the hex wrench that is supplied (or one from your toolbox) and loosen the screw on the top of the plastic knob. Once loosened, lift the plastic knob about 1/8 inch and it will unlock from the valve body. The direction of turning is indicated on the valve (or instructions) - one way will add more from the hot side, and the opposite turn will add more from the cold side. The valve will operate with the screw loose, so you may want to test the output temp before retightening the screw. Once the temp is OK, reset the knob down on the valve and lightly retighten the screw so it will not move. Hope that helps.

You have to loosen the screw on top of the knob a bit in order to pull the knob out to unlock it and allow it to turn to adjust the temperature Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Android-powered phone

You put a thermometer or a temperature sensing strip on the outlet pipe, and turn the plastic knob ( the one with the paper tag on it) right or left to let in more or less hot water. When the output temp matches what temp you need, you are set.

Simply loosen the screw in the center of the cap far enough to let the cap rotate(about 1/4-3/8 inch), then adjust the temperature by pulling the cap out(away from the body) and rotating the plastic cap(counter-clockwise for hotter and vice-versa).

The union style nut is not offered seperately so the whole unit would have to be replaced.
