Fixed problem
My old sensor was stuck at 52. This was easy to change. New sensor was reading 10 degrees high,but was able to adjust it on boiler. Now boiler is adjusting properly to outside temperature.

The missing sensor
Many of the new higher efficiency boilers have the capacity to use an outside temperature sensor but some manufacturers don't include it. Supply House helped me understand why this sensor is important and how simple it was to add. Should have done this 2 yrs ago. Thanks Supply House crew

This was exactly what I needed and easy installation
My boiler has this outdoor temperature sensor to help save fuel. The heat wouldn't come on the other day when the thermostat was calling for heat. Checking the boiler information display, it said "Warm Weather Shutdown". After some research in my owner's manual I realized that this boiler will not heat the house if the outside temperature as sensed by this outside temperature sensor is above a preset temperature. On my Weil Mclain gas boiler that temperature was set at 60 F. The actual temperature outside according to my thermometer in the yard was 54 F. Looking around on the boiler's information display I found where the outside temperature sensor for the boiler was indicating 78F, or 24 F above actual outside temperature. I located the sensor on the north side of my house and pulled the cover off and disconnected one wire, and rechecked the temperature indicated on the boiler information display. It now read "open", indicating that the wire was not simply shorted. I ordered this new temperature sensor and it fit perfectly. Easy install with only one screw and two spring clips for the wires, easily released with a pocket screwdriver. It fixed the problem and the display reads the correct outside temperature now.
