Used to seat a temp sensor in a well in a hot water tank.
Used regular Grease and was getting a 3-4 min delay in registering temperature, so the heat pump "over pressured" with the extra hi temp.
Used a big-gulp straw* to ensure this grease goes at the end of the sensor. Reduced the delay in registering temp to ~1.5min and eliminated the heat pump issues.
* Slit the straw lengthwise, push sensor in to about 1/2" from end. Fill end with grease. Push straw/sensor to the bottom of the well. Hold the sensor wire in while pulling the straw out. Use slit to slide straw off the wire.
