Shiny Plastic

It's so lightweight the delivery box felt empty. Perfect finish, no means of attaching it to a wall but PEX can hold it in place reasonably well after press-fitting the two pieces together. Seems outrageously expensive for a plastic decoration, but figure that it's well-finished on the facing side and its plastic composition makes it fairly immune to corrosion.

Cheap

These are plastic covered in chrome. They work, but they're cheap and light. Plus side; they'll never rust. Minus, there are dimples in the plastic mold that show up in the reflections in the chrome. I didn't use the sleeves, instead using some metal sleeve I bought elsewhere in the site. They're not as tight against that sleeve, but I didn't expect they would match. If you use the included sleeve, it will be snug.

Eliminate the blue stub out sticking through the Wall

Ever since we moved from copper pipe to PEX pipe, builders have really learned to take shortcuts that make your Bathrooms look unfinished. In my house built by DR Horton, the stub outs for my toilets were blue 1/2" PEX-A pipe. Not anymore! These Escutcheons are both easy to install and look fantastic when finished.

Nice touch to make visible pex fitting more present able

Re-pipes entire house and for the connections visible by toilets and even under sinks these were great. I also added an extra trim extension so that if I ever have to replace a valves I have a few inches sticking out of wall. Still have to clean up the hole and mess, but the photo shows the look to expect. Looks much better than some plastic pipe with printing hanging out. A bit pricey for a piece of plastic, but really makes it look much better so worth it.

Q: Will this escutcheon work with copper compression rings and how does it stay against the wall?

I used it to cover 1/2 PEX pipe with copper compression ring coming out of the floor connected to a stop valve for a toilet. Since my pipe comes out of the floor I just put it down with some silicon caulk underneath the edge of it.

Q: will this work with a metal insert fitting and copper crimp application? with the crimped copper ring fit in the cone?

A 1/2" crimp ring wouldn't be able to slide all the way through the cone of a F5670500 escutcheon, but it could fit inside the cone. The cone is designed to fit 1/2" ProPEX rings which are larger than crimp rings.

Crimp ring wont fit inside the narrow tip. I had to crimp just above the top. Lloyd

yes this will fit. I have not tried that but if it fits a plastic ring then it should fit the clip.

The escutcheon will fit on the PEX tubing, but not on the SharkBite fitting.

Q: Whats the difference between PEX Press and ProPEX connections? This might sound dumb, but if I use the steel clamps instead of crimping, will the escutcheon fit over the shut-off?

PexPress is a fitting system made by Viega and ProPex is a fitting system made by Uponor. You can use the escutcheon with a clamp system.

They do not work with PEX Press connections. They are meant for ProPEX connections.

Q: Hello, I am about to install the ProPex Escutcheon in my bathroom. I purchased it for Pexsupply and I want to make sure I am installing it correctly. Do you pull the 1/2" Pex Through and crimp? A non-crimped copper ring does not fit in to the opening. Will it fit after I crimp the copper ring? Directions would be a great help. Thanks

You would place the Escutcheon and the bell on the PEX tubing first, and then you would make your fitting. For more information, please visit the PDF file: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1282934446114/38420_PROD_FILE.pdf
