1-1/4" PVC "Quiet Check" Solvent Weld w/ Union Check Valve

Hard to find quiet check valves in this size. Shipping was fast and this is legitimately quiet, especially compared to my previous check valve that had water hammering comparable to your local high school's drumline. This doesn't even make a clicking noise! Installation was super easy too, just had to cut a small bit off my pipe since it was a little longer than my previous check valve.

Installed this on a laundry sump pump in basement. Works great, Silent, no shaking, and... it doubles as a union so that's one less part to buy. Easy to disconnect pump for repair or replace check valve if it ever needs it. Supply House price was same as big stores and delivered overnight. Happy to give them my business,.

About 6 years ago I added a basement work-shop utility sink, which meant pumping water up about 6 feet above the drain/pump position into an available drain hole in my basement sewer pipe. Two years ago my pump seals must have worn a bit, and I started getting backflow from the water column into the sink. This caused my pump to run ever 30 seconds, or when I unplugged the sink I got about an inch of standing water in the basin of the sink. I added this check valve at the lowest point in the drain, and my problems have been solved. Now I can leave the pump plugged in, I don't get cycling, my level switch in the drain stays clean, and no messy water in the sink. The "messy grey water" is still in my drain column, but for the past month of install, it has never interfered with the closure of this valve. The valve obviously only opens under the force of the pump - so there is a "surge" of water with what some might call a short cycle of the pump that can not be balanced out with the down-stream ball valve - but this is not an issue to me, and is only meant to describe a difference in behavior of my drain system with the addition of the check valve. At this point I am very happy with the fix, and don't anticipate any issues! However, it is nice to have the attachment unions supplied with this check valve - as if replacement is needed down the road - it will take all of 30 seconds, and not require a rebuild of the rest of the glued drain pieces. As usual, SupplyHouse.com had the odd size of 1 1/4 " diameter in stock, and it was delivered within 2 days of ordering.

We have a utility sink that requires a pump and when it would stop running the waste line system would pound and shake - with me thinking the racket was all related to the pump cycling on and off. Then we replaced the existing check valve with a 'quiet check' - unbelievable what a difference it made. The pump is fairly quiet as it turns out! It was the check valve all along. On top of that, since the 'quiet valve' is a solvent with union I can easily remove it if maintenance is ever required. Well worth the few extra dollars.

We purchased a utility sink pump that came with a check valve included. Needless to say the reason it was "included" was because it was less than stellar. The pump would cycle and 6 feet of water would crash back into the included check valve and the pipes would bang and jump. We purchased this Quiet Check Valve and it resolved all of our issues. Once this was plumbed in the water hammer was gone and you could no longer see, or more importantly hear, the water coming back to the check valve.

The big bang is gone and it works nicely. It works exactly as I expected and wanted. I would warn some that more water returns to the basin then for other check valves, but not much. So if this is critical be aware. But it works as hoped and the quiet is well worth it.

I have had Water hammering in my house for twenty years. I have brought over six different water valves over the years trying to get the banging noise to stop and that never happened. Some made it quieter but did not stop it. Last year it has been driving me crazy. So I went on the internet and did some research on the reviews on check valves and came across this one. I was really sceptical about buying another valve but I could not take the banging noise anymore. Brought this and installed it and I was soooooooo happy. It got rid of the hammering noise. This is the best valve, well made and easy to install. After a month I went back to Supply House and brought two more to keep in the basement for spares. I know I might not use them but I never want to have to go back to the bagging noise!!! Best valve on the market.

I had trouble finding the 1 1/4 quiet check valve but found it at Supply House. Had to wait awhile as it was not in stock but after installing it, the sump pump no longer has the repeated banging sound and movement of the pipe after the the pump stops. Many offer the 1 1/2 size and some are clear but Supply House had the answer for me,
