Perfect Simple Thermostat
Do buy this if you are after a simple non programmable thermostat. BIG NUMBERS. Simple on/off/auto for fan and cool or heat. Temperature adjustment is made by turning the huge 3.5" dial. Adjustment in in 2 degree increments that you feel when turning the dial. I purchased one for my home 3 years ago and one just recently for my folks house. They love it.

Too Large
This is an easy to read thermostat but it is UGLY!. It projects very far from the wall and the black numbers are look cheaply designed. The optional back plate makes it look worse. Thankfully my contractor agreed and we are having it switched out to something else.

Review of easy to see Honeywell round
This thermostat was purchased for an elderly person. It operates exactly like her old honeywell round but has a much larger setting indicator. The best feature is it clicks every 2 degree setting and each click can be felt by touch which makes it ideal for someone with poor eyesight. This is a great design for the elderly community. When I initially received the thermostat it was missing a part. I called supplyhouse and was shipped a replacement very quickly. The person I spoke to was very courteous and helpful. I have listed Supplyhouse as one of my favorites and will make future HVAC parts purchases. Thanks to everyone at Supplyhouse.

Big numbers for old eyes
I bought it for my 93 year old neighbor with a steam system. The programmable Honeywell was causing her stress, because she could not understand how to turn up the heat in the evening. This one did the trick. It is nice and simple. The big numbers are great. I would have given a full 5 rating, but the tiny thermometer underneath is still causing her to ask me questions about the heat. She can read the thermometer just enough to know it is a not reading the same as the temperature setting. I suspect the thermometer is 2 to 4 degrees off, but it could also be I am getting some cold from the wall. Anyway, this thermostat is definitely the best solution I have found out there for old eyes and people who don't understand programmable thermostats. Big numbers and simple to operate.

I Would Buy This Thermostat Again
Easy to install. Good for visually impaired -- large numbers are easy to read. Seems to respond to temperature differences better than my old Honeywell (better circuitry, perhaps??).

No, this thermostat does not require a battery. Thermostats that require a battery usually have a built in clock which requires a battery to keep the clock running in the event of a power outage. This thermostat has no clock. Dan L
