An essential when installing a tankless water heater
Tankless water heaters heat water quickly and where the water has a lot of lime and other minerals, scale develops on the heat tubes and then come loose. The screens at the faucets catch the scale requiring frequent cleaning. This product keeps everything clear.

Does not work in reality
I installed this for a Honeywell whole house TrueSteam humidifier. The humidifier used to choke up on calcium deposits and stop working. It came with an inline filter which was pretty much useless. I was hoping this product would help...but it does not make much difference. I still see the same amount of buildup in the tank.
Later on (too late!) I carefully checked the inline filter which came with the humidifier, it has the same ingredients.
Note that you may have to spend a lot of time trying to install this product and finally find out that it does not really make any difference.
I guess the people who are giving good reviews to this product are not able to check inside their hot water heater so they assume it works. In my case the humidifier's tank is designed to be removed for cleaning, hence I can see inside it easily and compare before-after easily.
Overall, I am disappointed!

Recommend installing on any on-demand hot water heater with questionable water quality.

It has just been installed, that went well. We will see when I drain the water heater and take out the new anode rod, if any calcium has accumulated on the rod or out of the bottom drain?
