Recommend this company as being extremely Helpful
The instructions on how to drain the Water Heater needs to include the situation where the inlet and outlet connections contain check valves. The recommendation to open the home hot water faucets won't work because of the check valves. Need to turn off the inlet water then disconnect the inlet water line, that will allow air to enter through the inlet check valve.

Q: Is there any adjustment with this gas valve or is it ready to fire out of the box?

Hi, If I remember correctly, the guy who installed the valve did not have to adjust or caliberate the valve. The valve is really simple to operate, there is a black ON/OFF/PILOT switch on top and a red temperature dial in front which you set to whatever heat you prefer. You may need to drain the water heater using a hose before installing the valve. Good luck.

No, there is no adjustments. If it is the same model as the original, you should not have any problems. If it is not, you should, as minimum, verify the physical specifications to match the original. I am not a professional, though, so a help of a professional is advised, otherwise you will act at your own risk.
