Ignitor kit for GDHE-50-LP
I've had to replace the ignitor in my A.O. Smith GDHE-50-LP water heater 3 times in the last 9 months. I'm not sure at this point if it's from poor ignitors or an issue with the water heater itself. The first ignitor that came with the heater lasted just under 7 years. But, now it's an on going problem. I have another one on order and as it turns out this part is getting harder to find.

Must have spare on hand.
1st ignitor (original) lasted 7 years, Secone one lasted a year and a half, Third one lasted one week. Fingers crossed on the fourth one.
Supply House is awesome, super fast shipping and the gave me a credit for the ignitor that only lasted one week. Fortinuatly it is very easy to replace.

They don't last forever
My Vertex is six years old and I pulled the burner for an unrelated problem. I replaced the ignitor just to get a fresh start. The first replacement was broken in shipping, but SupplyHouse.com got another one expedited. I'm keeping the used working part as a spare.
