Good price and product

Seems like a good product, so far no trouble and installation was fairly easy with moderate plumbing skills after I checked on what to do with the "dip tube insert" on the cold water side (do nothing).

Don't Buy This

This unity has been a problem on two occasions. One I had to replace one of the lower electrical parts and now it is leading in the lower electrical area. Too many problems for a three year old water heater.

Still a Fan of AO Smith

My last AO Smith electric water heater lasted 32 years...and we have hard water. Naturally, I replaced it with another AO Smith. Since these are not sold locally, I ordered one from SupplyHouse.com. The water heater was delivered to my door ahead of schedule at no charge. I could not be more pleased.

I would buy this product again

I replaced another AO Smith product with this one. Hard to tell how durable this product is. One complaint: the bottom of the heater is flat. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that this product will sit on a basement floor which is not necessarily flat. Previous model had 3 dimples on the bottom and it sat stable. This product is wobbly because it has a flat bottom sitting on not so flat basement surface. I had to stabilize it by putting 3 thin wooden blocks.

Time tested

Simple and basic design. No fancy display yet with great longevity. I replaced the original AO smith EES model that lasted 25 years. Time will tell how long this ECT model will last but it is the same size and fit with original. Since the old model provided a quarter century of service, why not choose the same? Fit and finish can be improved by the manufacture. Warranty offered only to original owner is a little disappointment. Delivery took about a week.

Less Than 2 years Life

This product is a few days less than 2 years old and it has to be replaced due to a leakage. I recently purchase this home and it is hard to believe, but the warranty only covers the original owner. I believe AO Smith should stay by their product, no matter who the owner is. So I am getting ready to go buy a new one, definitely not a AO Smith one.

I would buy this product again.

I've been using an identical water heater for 10 years and the only reason for replacing it is to give the older one to my daughter who hopefully will get another 10 years use from it.....

Shutting it off would save energy, so we would recommend doing so for extended absences.
