Does the job well!
I installed this unit at my father-in-law's 3 bedroom ranch style house in Greensboro, NC. This unit is the model with the side connections for the heat exchanger system. The item arrived on time, undamaged, and as described. Once installed, the Piezo electric igniter worked without issue. The tank heated up pretty quickly. The unit has proven itself sufficient to provide large amounts of hot water for baths, showers, dishes, etc, and at the same time supply ample hot water to the heat exchanger keeping the entire home warmed throughout at the correct thermostat setting. Finally, this price was by far the best online at the time of purchase. The big box retailers don't carry water heaters with side connectors, and the local plumbing supply houses ask for twice the amount I paid here to order one for you!
I can't ask for more!

Never run out of hot H2O
The quick recovery is great. We have had 3 consecutive showers while running laundry and dishwasher. No drop in pressure or hot H2O. And very Quiet.

Top notch water heater & recovery
Purchased this water heater for my folks. We were sick and tired of running out of how water with 7+ at home for the holidays, events, etc. This heater was put to the test on Christmas 2011 and excelled superbly. I was the last one thru the shower within an hour and felt no degradation in temperature. Awesome product AOSmith, great customer service from PexSupply as well!

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffIt seems that it does not. The ProMax XL, Heat Exchanger, or any system that requires a recirculating hot water loop would have side-mounted recirculating taps.
