Improvement over conventional transformer
I would recommend this solid state version over the conventional induction version.
It's a little cheaper and more lightweight and a higher voltage.

Resolved my problem!
Used this to replace the bulky 5878 type transformer. The old one was losing its punch causing intermittent lockouts. This unit's output is 17KV vs. the old 10KV.
Runs great now and came with all the gaskets too.

Needed the gaskets, why not get the whole coil assembly
Not much difference in price buying a gasket kit from Beckett with shipping, or the whole coil from Alanson. It's a no brainer. Sealed up my air leaks and have peace of mind that I have a good coil on, with the old as a spare. No difference in ignition time between the Beckett and Alanson, still at 0.02 seconds. Only reason for 4 stars is I cannot foresee how long it might last.
