WX1-250 44 Gal WELL-X-TROL Well-X1 Well Tank

This tank replaced an old WX-250 44 Gal WELL-X-TROL well tank that after 17 years the bladder finally ruptured. I irrigate my lawn and wanted to stop the pump from cycling so often. I considered a cycle stop valve and knowing I was going to be replacing my well pump soon (it's 27 years old) I also thought about a variable speed pump. I went with this tank because it provides almost constant pressure, is easy to adjust and I could use a simple tried and trusted 2 wire pump without an expensive to replace motor controller. It's paired with a 15 GPH 1-HP pump that when irrigating "flattens out" and the pump almost never cycles. Because the connections are on top it required some new plumbing but this tank is bigger than my old one, so I was moving everything anyway. Besides, I'd rather stand to do plumbing than bend over so it was kind of a plus. I'm a homeowner, not a pro, but I have to say Supply House's website made it easy to be sure I had everything I needed, so they get a 5 star review here too. Side note: The switch above it is a GE Z-Wave remote disconnect paired with Z-Wave leak detectors around my house. Any leak would shut the pump down immediately and the home automation system would alarm and even send email alerts. Coincidentally, this leak detector is also next to the basement sump pump, so it would cover a flood there to.

There is no comparison between the standard tank design and this version. The electronic controller allows for precise setting of pressure and differential. Moving all the connections and plumbing from bottom to top added some installation challenges but it was worth the effort. Happy the base is no longer steel, no more rust ring! Looks better, works better and is 100 percent ready to use. My family and I are enjoying water pressure that we have never before experienced in our home. Durability is the only question I have left to answer.

Very easy to install. Nice features easy to adjust the settings. Took awhile to get it. I had to call. My only issues are that the tank had two small dents upon delivery. Not a big deal, and I'm sure I could of refused it. But as long as it took I didn't mind it. I would recommend going over the tank carefully. After the driver left I noticed that one of the 2 screws that hold the electric part to the tank was broken. It looks like it was over tightened at the factory as the plastic was broke under the screw. I bought longer screws and flat washers and it better than the factory set up. If I would of noticed this I would of sent it back. It has been up and running for 2 months now with no issues.

Purchased this tank based on This Old House episode. Easy installation for plumber, but digital readout installed upside down @ factory (not tested?). Product worked fine for 2 years, then diaphragm failed. Supply House great with warranty return...very helpful and responsive. Will give replacement another try. If fails, will look elsewhere. Working great so far and digital readout is not upside down.

VERY EASY HOOK UP. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND CHANGE IF YOU WISH. FACTORY SETTING WAS PERFECT FOR OUR USE. HAVE EXCELLENT WATER FLOW BEST SINCE OWNING THE HOUSE. WOULD DEFINATELY BUY AGAIN.
