This Aqua-Pure sediment cartridge is made from an exclusive Progressive Porosity process that entangles and entraps larger sediment particles toward the outer diameter and progressively smaller particles toward the cartridge core. This allows even loading for maximum cartridge life. In addition, the unique square-grooved surface provides more sediment-trapping surface area than ever before. Unlike string-wound and pleated paper cartridges, the rigid, sturdy construction of the Aqua-Pure cartridges are able to withstand variations in water pressure.

Does what it says it does
No complaints so far, but it hasn't been installed for long. I'm using this filter on a hot water loop going to a tankless water heater. We were getting a lot of mineral deposits which overwhelmed the tiny thimble size filter in the water heater, so replaced that with this. Holds up to the hot water in the stainless housing and seems to be protecting the water heater as expected.

Quality product at a good price
These filters won't fill up and break thru as the cheaper ones you find at your local Home Improvement stores will. The cost is higher than the cheap ones, but you get much more life out of these without the fear of system failure.
