An expensive alternative to a ball valve
I used these valves to limit flow in the least restricted circuits in my home heating system. Some loops were "stealing" most of the flow when they were on.. I could have done the same thing with a partially closed ball valve but these have a better graduated flow scale and a set screw that allows you to always open them to the same position. But too expensive for what they are. I didn't need the flow sensor connection ports, I set them based on return loop temperature.

Q: Should this product ever be installed with the red adjustment knob removed? Should this product ever be installed upside down with the drain facing upwards? I believe my unit was installed incorrectly and am looking for clarification.
