The TTW1® model is power vented for positive exhaust. It offers greater installation flexibility with the ability to vent through a wall or roof, with either 2 or 3 PVC, ABS or CPVC pipe.

Features:
  • ENERGY STAR® Qualified - These models qualify for the January 1st, 2009 minimum ENERGY STAR® EF requirement, as well as most utility rebate programs.
  • Advanced ScreenLok® Technology Flame Arrestor Design - Flame arrestor is designed to prevent ignition of flammable vapor outside of the water heater.
  • Flammable Vapor Sensor - Electronic sensor prevents burner operation if flammable vapors are detected. The sensor will also prevent operation if there is ongoing flammable vapor burn inside the combustion chamber.
  • Maintenance Free - No regular cleaning of air inlet openings or flame arrestor is required under normal conditions.
  • Sight Window - Offers a view into the combustion chamber to observe the operation of the pilot and burner.
  • Factory installed Hydrojet® Total Performance System - Cold water inlet sediment reducing device helps prevent sediment build up in tank. This increases first hour delivery, while minimizing temperature build up at top of tank.
  • Vitraglas® Lining - Bradford White tanks are lined with an exclusively engineered enamel formula that provides superior tank protection from the highly corrosive effects of hot water. This formula (Vitraglas®) is fused to the steel surface by firing at a temperature of over 1600° F.
  • Power Vented Water Heater - Designed for installations where atmospheric units cannot be used. Exhaust gases are vented under positive pressure directly out of the building through the roof or the wall.
  • Powerful Blower Motor - Our significantly quiet design has greater resistance to outside winds and the power to vent in many difficult venting situations.
  • Honeywell Self Diagnostic Electronic Gas Control - Intelligent gas control with spark to pilot ignition system eliminates the constant burning pilot. This results in savings of pilot gas during stand by periods (120 V.A.C.).
    • Enhanced Performance - Proprietary algorithms provide enhanced First Hour Delivery ratings and tighter temperature differentials.
    • Advanced Temperature Control System - Microprocessor constantly monitors and controls burner operation to maintain accurate and consistent water temperature levels.
    • Intelligent Diagnostics - An exclusive green LED light prompts the installer during start-up and provides ten different diagnostic codes to assist in troubleshooting.
    • Pilot On Indication - Flashing green LED provides positive indication that pilot is on.
  • Horizontal and Vertical Venting - With 2" or 3" PVC, ABS or CPVC (Maximum equivalent vent length on reverse side).
  • 1" Non-CFC Foam Insulation - Covers the sides and top, reducing the amount of heat loss. This results in less energy consumption, improved operation efficiencies and jacket rigidity.
  • Water Connections - 3/4" NPT factory installed true dielectric fittings.
  • Factory installed Heat Traps - Design incorporates a flexible disk that reduces heat loss in piping and eliminates the potential for noise generation.
  • Protective Magnesium Rod.
  • Pedestal Base.
  • T&P Relief Valve - Included.
  • Brass Drain Valve - Durable tamper proof design.

Awesome Water Heater!!

Replaced my 13 year old Bradford White with this one - seemed to be similar to one I had, well, it must have been! The new one was 1/4" shorter, was a direct replacement, literally! New one has a bigger burner, so faster water heating too!

7 year old unit power vented oh my!

Leaking tonight middle of winter here in Colorado! Looked up warranty and it has been out of warranty since June 2012! It is only 8 years old! This was installed in a newly built home finished in 2006 December 31st! Tomorrow will look for a replacement brand! Very disappointed in this unit! New unit will not be a BW!

Failed 15 days before 6 year Warranty Expired

Had an AOS water heater that lasted 18 years previous and this one did not even make it six. Have water softener and about every four months partially drained the tank to remove any sediment at the bottom. Lucky it failed just before the warranty expired, if this fails again will replace with different brand.

Getting good at replacing water heaters.

We are in the process of replacing this water heater for the second time (3 water heaters total)within 16 years due to tanks leaking. We do have well water, so is this acceptable failure?? Otherwise the heater is easy to install and works well to heat the water.

Bradford White power vent water heater

Bradford White water heaters are nearly impossible to buy outright unless you are a contractor. I have lots of mechanical experience and understand residential codes as they applied to me. So I bought this water heater for my DIY installation. Novices beware, get some experienced help. I needed to move my rigid gas line and vent pipes. I always use new pipes and fittings where needed or taken apart. Make sure natural gas lines are checked for leaks before lighting off. So far installed 3 months and works like a charm. It lit immediately and heats up fast. It replaced a similar B/W water heater about 11 years old and it worked fine. This was a preventive maintenance replacement. Because of that I shopped for best price and could afford to wait for the shipping online.

great heater, but did not include stand

I specifically inquired about a stand to install this heater on. The phone rep told me stand was included with order....stand was not in shipment. The delivery driver did not know anything about it. Plumber that installed this heater said I should have the stand to get the heater up a few inches from floor...which would protect heater. It would be nice to resolve this. Thank you

Its a great Water Heater.

Water Heater is great! I basically had the same unit previously -lasted 15 years, only a few changes in the unit in the past few years. I like that they moved the power connection. Remember to purchase feet or need to improvise and have blocking to get the unit off the ground. The old one came with feet.

A Model I Like

I purposely sticked with the same model as my original because, "it fit so why quit". It performs beautifully and is dependable. Selfinstallation was a breeze seeing that everything was completely in alignment with the old one, no adjustments at all necessary. A six year tank lasted me eight years. Expecting the same results or better with my new one.

TTW1 50g 40K BTU

The water heater arrived undamaged and in working order. This was a concern of mine since the return shipping would have been expensive. The build quality looks very good. The manuals are good. The installation was straight forward and the unit is not overly noisy. There is some fan noise so if not in a dedicated utility space this could be an issue. The water gets very hot -- so be sure to adjust the temperature setting on the controller. I gave it 4 stars based on the build quality. I hope it provides years of trouble free service.

No it will not because without power it cannot vent the poison exhaust gases. Without power for the "powered vent", the gas heater shuts down. JRR Sent from my iPhone

Q: how many feet can you vent this unit?

Asked by Bob 12 years ago

The maximum venting distance for this unit depends on the number of elbows in the vent run. For specific length limits please see the vent chart on pg 11 here: http://s3.supplyhouse.com/manuals/1270752206645/28915_PROD_FILE.pdf

Bob, there is no short answer or single number to answer your question. You must carefully follow the venting instructions in the following guide: http://s3.supplyhouse.com/manuals/***.****45/28915_PROD_FILE.pdf The distance is greatly dependent on whether you use 2" or 3" vent piping and how many 45 deg and 90 deg elbows. You must also study the limitations on where you can put the exhaust vent on the outside of your house. For example in distance from windows, other air intakes, etc. Hope this helps. JRR

Q: The manual states that the unit is to be adhered to the floor or mounted on a leg kit that is optional, am I reading that correctly? I read a review about a check valve included in the box but no instructions on its use, is one needed? thank you

Hello, I did not adhere the water heater to the floor. I placed it on floor tile that I had left over. The heater came with a pressure relief valve. I'm not familiar with a check valve needed.

I mounted the Heater on a leg platform and braced the entire unit to two adjacent walls. The only valve I remember is the pressure relief valve. I connected that to a 3/4 inch rigid copper line that was routed to the exterior of the building. I hope this helps.

Doesn't sound like those statements are part of this water heater installation. I might add that installing this water heater involves complex knowledge and installation abilities. Judging from your questions, I recommend you ONLY get a licensed certified installer to do the job. Could go terribly wrong on many fronts. Good luck.
