Bradford White no longer manufacturer's oil powered water heaters so there is no suggested replacement.
RF-30SX-6 is the short version of RF-30-6. It is shorter and wider, which may be necessary in certain installations. The units have the same hot water output ratings.
Hi I think one has a side exhaust and the other is a top exhaust. Don't take my word on it. I think it explains it in the manual. Besides that they are the same units
The RF-30SX-6 is a shorter version in height to the RF-30-6. The height you'll need will depend on what you have now. This version has the flue pipe exiting the rear (RF) of the hot water heater. Take a measurement from the floor to the centerline of the flue on your existing hot water heater. Match it up as close as you can to the measurements on the spec. sheet (A - Floor to Flue Conn.). This will tell which one you need. The flue connection on the hot water heater to the chimney connection should pitch up slightly when installed.
