You can adapt to 4" ducting, but it will make the fan louder and cut down on its CFM rating by about 20%.
Certainly. You can purchase a 6 inch to 4 inch reducer. Broan makes these or you can go to your local big box store and pick one up. Here's a link to one Broan sells on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Broan-475B-duct-reducer-single/dp/B004XVVPME
There is always a way to change things from it's original design, but I would not recommend it.
If you reduce it to 4" you will over-work the motor and it will not be as quiet or as efficient. If your existing vent goes thru the roof the cap you have should be enough for the 6" duct, but you may need to measure it first. Definately don't use a 4" duct.
No, the QTX110HL fits in a 2" x 8" construction. Broan does not offer a ceiling heater for a 2" x 4" construction.
Hello handy wife from New York, I assume it will fit a 2x4 construction permitting that the unit is clear from any insulation and the heater/fan unit is clear of any other obstruction that may impede the proper function.
No, it must be purchased separately (part number 77DV or 77DW).
