Very nice bath fan

Very quiet and moves a lot of steam. If you have a bathroom that steams up easily, this will help.

Pretty nice

The unit itself is good, however the installation was very time consuming and I do construction for a living. So good unit, but design made install very difficult.

Strong, quiet and bright.

Pros: • Move a lot of air fast • Sound is low and not annoying (Low pitch noise as opposed to high pitch white noise) • Light is bright and crisp white. Cons: • Wiring diagram is confusing and missing a simple wiring example. • Lights are proprietary to this unit so you will have to special order I replaced an 8" wide, 80 CFM, 4 Sones (Loud) Broan Fan that died on me with this one. This fan moves twice as much air as my last one, makes half the noise and is twice as bright. It is awesome, I love it. I had to do a lot of modification to fit it including cutting away more drywall and cutting through metal studs. The wiring was not very straight forward. I had to have a friend help me (Always a good idea to ask someone who knows more than you for help when it come to electrical) The diagram is for someone going from their main electrical line to a special switch that splits out the fan, light and nightlight. I didn't have that, I only had the typical home on/off switch, like 99% of other people so it is a real head scratcher as to why they did not include a wiring diagram for the rest of us. So be aware of that, and study the diagram VERY closely and/or consult a pro. The omission of the special switch means I can't use the night light but that's no really a concern to me. I also modified the air outlet/exhaust housing because it went from 6" out to my 4" exhaust line by cutting away the transition on the black plastic with a dremel and taping a 4" dryer vent to it to have more flexibility in the line and have an easier way to transition the outlet to inlet. I don't have an attic so the clearance was real tight. It helped me out. In doing this I chopped off the backdraft stopper so I bought a 4" cape backdraft filer that gets installed inline between the flexible dryer vent and the hard line. I highly recommend doing this if you are in my situation, remember to order it and have it on hand before you start the job.

Broan QTXE150FLT Review

So I had to upgrade my larger bathroom fan, decided to get the ultra quiet with the larger CFM and 6" exhaust. Also had to upgrade my venting in the attic with a roof cap and some nice insulated pipe. The fan looks great. has 2 75 watt bulbs which make is nice and bright and works just fine as it should for the CFM it has. It is not as quiet as I thought it would be AND the plastic damper pins on the housing broke when I was installing it so I have to order a new part. Other reviews mentioned the flapper pins breaking and noticed the part number is now upgraded so may be they fixed that problem now. Nice overall fan for the price once I fix the flapper issue.
