Great for replacement of bulky cast iron radiators!

This is the 3rd unit I've purchased for client use in gut renovations projects of two bathrooms and kitchen this season. This units emit adequate heat and are ideal for replacement of old heavy cast iron Radiators in the sense that they save a tremendous amount of space and are easy to mount on wall and integrate with your plumbing. Not to mention they're quite nice and stylish they have a really subtle sense of architectural design and in that sense it integrates very nicely with your renovations and other fixtures. Be sure to purchase the correct fittings for these radiators from supply house.com because you will have a hard time finding them elsewhere... And this is New York City where you could find anything, anywhere. Suggest save yourself the trouble and order any accompaning parts directly from them. Besides the prices are really good as we have been pleased with the cost of our radiator replacements for 3 individual clients so far.

Good but needs additional items

The radiator itself is okay but if you are looking to buy this you need to know to buy the diverter valve that goes on the supply and return piping into the bottom of this radiator, even if you have a 1 pipe system. Otherwise you will hear the water whooshing through the unit that won't stop unless you greatly restrict the flow. Also, the mounting brackets that come with it do not have good instructions but are capable of being installed if you have basic contractor knowledge. The brackets did not come with the "nub" part that prevents the unit from sliding left to right on its wall mount. Conveniently the piping stops this movement for the most part but this is still an insecure installation. If you can find all the correct parts (thermostat control valve, correct mounting brackets, diverter valve, pex connectors) this is a great product. Otherwise this will be a headache to get installed "correctly".

Great product

Just got this installed and it heats up so well. My kitchen is finally warm. Make sure you get ALL required pieces recommended on this site and the right pro to install it. Mines needed 2 feet of copper on each hole and then into Pex B.

European fittings

This is not meant for US plumbing. The instructions weren't even in English but Dutch. If you know how to convert everything, go for it. My contractor did not.

Not sure

First the radiator was damaged during transport so the contractor couldn't install it but I had to payed him anyway (uploaded pictures of the damage) You did not compensate for that Wait two more weeks for anew one and pay a contractor AGAIN the radiator came with no instructions had to call you again Nd you email a manual Then I had difficulty setting the thermostat and I called you for technical support you did not give any and gave me the number of a BOSCH I called them and they requested for me as a homeowner to have a Licence Professional in the line ( pay a contractor for the third time) so they will connect me to technical assistance and answer my questions so I am still with no support after buying a product of almost $600 It has been a hassle

The best radiators out there

I have replaced all of my old radiators with these radiator panels and I couldn't be happier. They are easy to install, look great and take up minimal space. Prices seem to be going up so I am glad I did most of the house before they become even more expensive.

I would buy this product from Supply House again!

Shipping was fast! The products arrived the next day, and in good condition with no damage. The items were installed on the following day and have been working as expected with no issues.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: I'm buying a 1937 home that currently has recessed steam radiators but the boiler is shot and needs to be replace. I will be switching over to hot water heating but I like that the radiators are recessed into the wall and do not take up any floor space. My question is: Can the wall mounted radiators be recessed into the wall? If not, can you recommend a product?

That can be done, however you will not get optimal convection and some areas may feel cooler than others.

Unless your system is direct supply/direct return, this will affect the system.

In an open system, you will not need an oxygen barrier.

In a open system you can not use a cast iron rad, you will get rust in your tap water.

This panel has R20 thread. You will need the adapter that Buderus offers in order to make your connections.

Q: Do I need the thermostatic head to run this like a baseboard heater in my house? What other parts will I need with this panel radiator to install it in my current hydronic system? I am just adding this panel like I would another 2ft of fin tube.

You will need Copper Radiator Compression Fittings to connect the supply and return lines to this panel.

Q: what is the sguare foot that a 12x24 heats [the room size]

That radiator has a BTU output of 1970. It would be impossible to say exactly how large of a space it would heat without knowing more about the heat loss of the room you plan on using it in. For example, it will be able to heat a larger room if it is well insulated and does not have many windows.

The installation manual ( http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1249544647674/17234_PROD_FILE.pdf ) should have most of the information you are looking for. Buderus is a branch of Bosch, a company with multiple facilities around the world. We do know that this unit is built somewhere in Europe.
