The state-of-the-art design of the GB142, with integrated controls, is a rare combination of outstanding quality paired with exceptional value. Utilizing advanced condensing technology, the Buderus GB142 Wall-Mounted Boiler maximizes the heating value of every cubic foot of natural gas or liquid propane. All GB142 Boilers now come with the AM10 outdoor reset control and DHW sensor for control of an indirect DHW tank. The GB142 is approved for 3" solid core PVC horizontal and vertical venting.
The small size and minimal clearance requirements of the GB142 Boiler provide tremendous installation flexibility. Thanks to the prefabricated low-loss header, the GB142 Boiler has the fastest installation in the industry. Specially designed with an appropriately sized circulator, this manifold ensures proper flow-rate through the unit. This feature greatly extends the service life of the GB142. By simplifying the piping, the GB142 manifold allows for quicker, easier, and trouble-free installation.

Impressive unit
Very well put together unit - installation manual could be much more descript though. The wiring instructions are very unclear concerning supplemental circulator wiring. It also creates a problem when used in a water to air (Unico) system because it gives complete priority to DHW and shuts the main circulator off when DHW is calling. After DHW is satisfied the unit goes into a 10 min rest - the whole time this is going on the air units blow cold air. There is no setting to stop the priority function so we had to add an aquastat to each air handler to correct this.
Overall the unit is nothing short of amazing - compact, quiet, and powerful - I would definitely recommend!

Its 3 years later and I sure am Happy
I have a 5000 SF house in LI NY which was on #2 heating oil. ("#2" is a great name for heating oil, isn't it?!). Anyway, a little over 3 years ago, I switched to natural gas and purchased the high efficincy Buderus GB142-60 condensing boiler and hot water tank. Mind you, National Grid is not known for its cheap energy rates around here and I was a little reluctant to switch at first. Well, to my surprise, I found I was instantly saving over 25% in my first years heat and hot water bills.... But, that was when heating oil was selling for around $2.15/ gallon. Now (2011), with heating oil now at $3.50/ gallon its become a major home run for me and I'm saving 50% or more on heating costs. I figure I've already paid for the install of the condensing boiler, and I'm now making money on my investment every year going forward. And with the tax credit I got 2 years ago, this will be the best paying investment I made in my home since i bought it.
I also realized a savings in that I dont have to pay the oil burner mechanic $150/ yr to come and clean & tune the boiler, and pay $100 to have the chimney swept every other year. Besides this, there are no more fuel oil smells, clogged filters, no puff backs, no soot in the house, no more oil burner blower noise, and no more costly mid winter emergency breakdowns and running out of oil at the worst times.
What a score this was.... and the GB142 works flawlessly without the slightest problem so far.
Dont hesitate if you are on the fence about buying one.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffYes, as per the installation manual the GB142 Boiler comes with a manifold including: a low loss header, pressure relief valve, tridicator, DHW connections, Grundfos 15-58 3-speed boiler circulator, and supply and return shutoff ball valves.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThis boiler will work as long as it meets the BTU requirement of the the six zones. Keep in mind that condensing boilers are unable to approach their full efficiency ratings at the water temperatures generally used with baseboard radiators (180°F - 200°F). It is possible to run baseboards at lower temperatures, but these installations require more baseboard to achieve the same heat output you'd get at higher water temperatures.

The Buderus GB142 - 198,800 BTU Output Wall Hung Modulating-Condensing Gas Boiler - Natural Gas does not produce steam. It is a water based system.
